The New Gonzales Family. Sunday, September 21, 2008. Kira is making so much progress! She's up for most of the day in a wheelchair and even doing a little standing, bearing her weight on left foot. Her speech is getting better, and today she moved her right hand, on purpose, three times! She has regained total feeling in her right arm, which is fantastic! The wound care specialist came by. My one and only niece, Ashley. June 3, after heart cath. Pre-op for his heart cath. Visiting another Great Grandma. Grandma, baby Ross, and Great Grandma. He loves his crib and the rainforest creatures. 2 months old, loving the bath towel.and NO MORE ng tube! Grandma Lou holding baby Ross.one month old. Only a couple hours old.

Kira's speech is also improving. A lot! Still going to occupational and speech therapy twice a week, but her physical therapy has been cut down to once a week. The New Gonzales Family. Thursday, September 25, 2008. Some updates from the last few days. Kira is speaking in complete sentences. She is getting bored and then sad between therapy sessions, so they are looking into increasing the amount of therapy she receives. Discharge from inpatient rehabilitation should be in one week. Yesterday she changed the baby using only her left hand and did a good job. Today Kira squeezed her left index finger with her right hand. Im so proud of you for all of your progress!

We had free passes for three of us from Disney’s Give a Day, Get a Day promotion and we had to use them by December 15th. Since our last trip the week after Thanksgiving was such a success, we decided to try that strategy again this year. It worked out perfectly!
