http://teachingourkids17.blogspot.com/2013/02/writing-conferences.html
Sunday, February 3, 2013. So I would try to make suggestions like, "Can we choose a better word here? This is one of many helpful teaching strategies I got from the chapter. I hope to implement a few when I return to my placement and am actually looking. To writing conferences now that I actually have a few ideas of how to help my writers! February 5, 2013 at 9:02 PM. Adventures in teaching: The wall of policy
http://teachingourkids17.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-wall-of-policy.html
Sunday, February 24, 2013. The wall of policy. I recently read one of Spencer's blog posts Why aren't teachers more innovative. That last sentence is truly frightening. How, as a brand new teacher, am I to stand up for what I believe in without losing my job? I don't want to spend the first 5 years of my teaching career being a "compliant warm body", but is this the compromise I will have to make? February 24, 2013 at 2:58 PM. Tricky tricky indeed. I hear exactly what you are saying! A Brand New Line.

Contemplating Education: A Road Less Traveled?
http://contemplating-education.blogspot.com/2013/02/a-road-less-traveled.html
Sunday, February 24, 2013. A Road Less Traveled? I just finished the last chapter of John Spencer’s book A Sustainable Start. And I am both inspired, comforted and terrified all at the same time! The letter he wrote back to his new teacher self reminds me of the letter a professor had us write a short time ago to our future certified teacher selves. By the way, it is hard to believe how close we are getting to that day – less than four months now. Maybe his best piece of advice in this chapter is to not.

Hope, Strength, and Learning: Lessons from a Bear, Yes, a Bear
http://hopestrengthlearn.blogspot.com/2013/02/lessons-from-bear-yes-bear.html
Hope, Strength, and Learning. Sunday, February 10, 2013. Lessons from a Bear, Yes, a Bear. The faces of our cohort have changed a little. Yet, we gladly welcomed a new face and refuse to say goodbye to another. Our professors keep saying that we are a different sort of cohort. That there is something special about us. Are they just saying that? Do they say it to every cohort? Or is there something special? Oh, help and Bother! I'm Stuck." - Pooh. Has anyone ever asked a question that wasn't answered?
