Friday, April 27, 2007. Challenges in week 3. Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Our baby girl is growing. At Monday's checkup, Sara had gained 5 ounces since the previous Thursday! Maybe I'll try 5pm and 8pm, then the 11pm bottle? Talk about trial and error! Grandma and Nana are both helping out this week as Ian has gone back to work. He really misses her, and things aren't going very well with his job and his hours. Yesterday we had Sara in her bouncy chair for the first time without crying! From boob to bottle.

Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Look mom, I have toes! Sara has found her feet! Her favourite thing to do right now is hold her toes at any opportunity. before/after a nap, during diaper change, or while just lying on her mat. Adorable! I call it her yoga pose, upward-facing baby. She also has enough hair on top of her head now to warrant brushing it. Yesterday I got to brush my little girl's hair for the first time! Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Sunday afternoon at the pond. Last Sunday we met the fam at beautiful, historic Main St. Unionville and took Sara for a walk at Toogood pond. While we waited for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive Sara did one of her new favourite things - cruising around her umbrella stroller, playing with the straps and telling little stories ("sha sha sha."). Wednesday, August 29, 2007. I've considered mentioning that Mommy knows all about trying to push something painful through a small spot for the first time, but this probably won't help. Instead I can only give extra cuddles and kisses and wait for a tiny white tip to appear on her gums. This week I'm slowly teaching her how to sit on her own, which she is desperate to do! Friday, September 28, 2007. A spot of tea? I haven't mentioned it, but all week we've been giving Sara bum tea. What's that, you say? Our pharmacist told us to make a combo of hydrocortisone cream (0.5%) and the Life brand of Canesten. Not to be gross, but apparently diaper rash can become like a yeast infection. Finally, progress was made and her skin started to heal! Strangely, the mix of the cream and the diaper gave Sara's bum an aroma that I can only describe as 'eau de chicken broth'. Ian came with...

Monday, December 31, 2007. What a difference a year makes. Quite honestly I'm really not a new year's person so that was perfect for me, but this year it will be special to celebrate with Sara. Sunday, May 11, 2008. This weekend was full, full. not of errands and chores, but happy moments, smiles, and cuddles. First I got my hair cut (a lot). and look, it's straight! Then I picked up this vintage sewing box at a garage sale for $4 , which is now a lovely new home for. Organizing all of my paints! It's such a good, inspirational read for anyone who appreciates and loves good food. And for Mother's Day we had brunch out at one of my favourite local spots. The transformation always astounds me.

Monday, November 26, 2007. One of a kind finds. Yesterday at the One of Kind Show I tried to buy something for myself. really. I tried. But it seems that even when I try to shop for myself these days, I end up buying things for Sara instead! I picked up this cat puppet from Diabolo Puppets. It's so much fun and Muppet-like, I think she'll love it. It will be a gift for her first Christmas! All the free food samples, and one jar of red pepper jelly to pour over goat cheese for a Christmas dinner appetizer.
