Thursday, April 28, 2011. All kinds of things happen along the beach. I just love the fact they use tractors all over NZ to pull out boats. Captain Toi Toi (pampas grass for us not well versed in Maori). One last time to test his boogie boarding skills. Spiders were everywhere and so were these guys. They really creeped me out. One last self photo. So it seemed that this was the perfect place to set our 8 month collection of shells and rocks, free. The last view of the ocean from the last place we stayed.

I got hot and so. the water was very cold. A couple of older gals were watching us from the shore and later we struck up a conversation with them. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Christmas Holidays in NZ. Christmas Eve with our best Kiwi buds, Alison and Grant. Joe was working that night so I went to the cathedral steps and was part of the crowd that gathered to sing Christmas carols. No snow just a couple of thousand Kiwi's singing. Everyone got a candle and song sheet and everyone sang, not just the choir! There were heaps of people; babies to grandparents. After our Christmas swim at Rabbit Island, the barby was fired up for a large communal meal.

Monday, January 24, 2011. And we're hiking in the Abel Tasman National Park. One of many delicious meals, this one happens to be lamb.what else? Just two 'birds" on a branch. Saturday, April 23, 2011. North Island - Part One. We began our short "tiki tour" of the North Island by checking out the Te Papa Museum in the nations capitol of Wellington. Excellent!
