Balears_WildLife: Birdwatching in April and May
http://nhs-balearswildlife.blogspot.com/2013/06/birdwatching-in-april-and-may.html
Guided Birdwatching Tours Mallorca. Saturday, 22 June 2013. Birdwatching in April and May. These two months are extremely good for birdwatchers. April and May are best months to observe the pre-breeding migration and breeding species, so some of us haven't missed the opportunity to go birding and enjoy these moments. A good advice is to go birding after a storm. Birds should stop and wait for better weather, so it's a excellent opportunity to have high ligths. Good photos of Collared Pratincole and Purpl...

Guided Birdwatching Tours Mallorca. Wednesday, 14 March 2012. New breeding species for Majorca, the Griffon Vulture. Ornithologists from the islands have discovered a couple of nests of this species which arrived on the island due to heavy meteorological conditions. From Balears WildLife-NHS we are very grateful for all the search, effort and verification of a fact that everyone was waiting for in the Balearics, and it will probably be without doubt the avifaunistic event of the year. Nest boxes fulfil t...

Guided Birdwatching Tours Mallorca. Sunday, 17 June 2012. Nest boxes at the Camí des Correu. The Camí des Correu as its name suggests in Mallorcan (post path) is an old route used to join the towns of Esporlas and Banyalbufar and for the last five years has been used for nest box study and monitoring of their occupation by insectivorous birds. In these types of studies the yearly accumulation of information is important to be able to determine nest box occupation, species interrelation, phenology etc.

Balears_WildLife: July 2012
http://nhs-balearswildlife.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Guided Birdwatching Tours Mallorca. Tuesday, 31 July 2012. Heat is increasing these days and the majority of birds have finished their breeding, so birding becomes more difficult and uncomfortable. Birding early in the morning and two or three hours before the sunset will be more efficient. But if we want to observe raptors, for example, we must go out during hottest hours.
