Sunday, July 12, 2009. In April we visited Rotherhythe which has changed drastically from the busy dockland area it was when Joy's family lived there. From the Greenland Quay we made our way across the swing bridge which is at the entrance to Greenland dock. You can still see the hydraulic "jiggers" which opened and closed the swing bridge which together with a lifting crane which is a bit farther on is all that remains of the busy dockland which once thrived here.
