A Balanced Life....: Keeping Goals Top Of Mind
http://balancedlifefitness.blogspot.com/2011/05/keeping-goals-top-of-mind.html
Saturday, 14 May 2011. Keeping Goals Top Of Mind. Ingrid Bergman once said, “Happiness is good health and a bad memory.” But without a good memory, good health may not even be possible. If you could just bottle up that “first two weeks” freshness, enthusiasm and momentum, and take a swig from that magical bottle whenever you wanted, the temptation to give in or forget wouldn’t be a problem. You can do the next best thing by regularly reminding yourself of what you need to do and why. You’re doing s...

A Balanced Life....: My Progress to a Healthy Life
http://balancedlifefitness.blogspot.com/2011/06/my-progress-to-healthy-life.html
Sunday, 19 June 2011. My Progress to a Healthy Life. Hello There, I thought I would write a bit of an update on my progress. I am currently at day 12 of my workout routine and I am progressing slowly but at a steady pace. I have increased my cardio endurance to almost 30 minutes, mostly running, but I also like the rowing machines. What I am going for is an all around approach to my fitness routine. Tales of the Nishiki: A New Year
http://talesofthenishiki.blogspot.com/2015/01/a-new-year.html
Tales of the Nishiki. Birding, hiking and nature, with a dash of cycling, in southern Ontario. Thursday, January 1, 2015. It's been approximately 21 months since my last posting. The over extended sabbatical is over and the tales have returned. There's no shortage of birding adventures. Birding in Belize, 2014 lifers and the chase to tick as many species for the Niagara 2015 list is underway. What will be the first species and last species in Niagara and beyond for 2015? Tales of the Nishiki: Browns Fan for A Day
http://talesofthenishiki.blogspot.com/2012/12/browns-fan-for-day.html
Tales of the Nishiki. Birding, hiking and nature, with a dash of cycling, in southern Ontario. Sunday, December 16, 2012. Browns Fan for A Day. In all three states but the Wild Turkey. In Hamburg, New York and Great Blue Heron. We arrived in Cleveland around mid-day and we stopped to take in the sights along the waterfront. Most importantly, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. An interesting sign in the parking garage of the Great Lakes Science Centre (Center). Absence, I spotted a pair of Mallards. Now that...

Tales of the Nishiki: Oh Where, Oh Where Was That Black-throated Blue?
http://talesofthenishiki.blogspot.com/2012/12/oh-where-oh-where-was-that-black.html
Tales of the Nishiki. Birding, hiking and nature, with a dash of cycling, in southern Ontario. Monday, December 31, 2012. Oh Where, Oh Where Was That Black-throated Blue? With only the month of December left I was scrambling to add species to my 2012 Ontario list. Only 2 species were needed to beat last year's total of 216. The most recent tick was a male Harlequin Duck. Sitting on the water with 3 female Buffleheads. At the very tip of the spit. Unfortunately, this was not the only location used by eBird...

Tales of the Nishiki: Niagara CBCs
http://talesofthenishiki.blogspot.com/2013/01/niagara-cbcs.html
Tales of the Nishiki. Birding, hiking and nature, with a dash of cycling, in southern Ontario. Wednesday, January 9, 2013. It was that time of year again. Between December 14 and January 5, birders and nature club members head out into the great outdoors to count birds in the name of science. This year, Jean and I could only participate in 2 of the 3 Niagara Christmas Bird Counts. The St. Catharines CBC took place on December 16 and the weather was mild. No chance of a repeat sundog appearance. We observ...

Tales of the Nishiki: November 2012
http://talesofthenishiki.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tales of the Nishiki. Birding, hiking and nature, with a dash of cycling, in southern Ontario. Thursday, November 29, 2012. A Summer Day at Wetland Ridge. From the amount of tales I've posted recently, you would think I had given up on the birding thing and simply chose to laze around while my lists sat idle. Well, that's never going to happen. There were some issues with transferring images from Jean's camera to the PC but we have figured it out and I no longer have an excuse not to post. I was hoping t...
