Sunday, July 7, 2013. Lootera.an ode to loveliness. I was just not impressed with the trailers of the movie doing the rounds for a while now on TV. The movie looked.boring to me and I was willing to skip it. Now I am glad I didn't. Because Lootera is not a movie to be missed. Its a movie to be savored, to be enjoyed like you would enjoy a slow and delicious meal which ends with a delectable dessert. Please guys do yourself a favor. Watch Looetra! Lost and Found: March 2011

Saturday, March 26, 2011. The guilt lives on, so does inaction. The war ended, United Nations formed and the world promised to never ever let another Holocaust happen. But history repeats itself, and in this case it repeated over and over again as the two world powers fought for hegemony. Genocides happened all over the world, and often we looked the other way. So was the war in Afghanistan too justified? Even if United States had its own agenda, the end was an end of the Taliban era (though not complete...

Lost and Found: December 2011

Thursday, December 29, 2011. Dead body at the Sunday Market. Leaving my city tonight. Not sure if I am coming back. I already know I will miss you Ahmedabad, more than any other city I have ever known in life. The sweet Gujarati food. I will miss the mosques, the temples, the people who make them alive. I will miss walking on the streets aimlessly, talking to friendly strangers, eating food way past mid-night in the old city, and desperately searching for an open cigarette shop at 2 am. There are so many...

Lost and Found: Kidnapped/ missing/ killed
http://www.siddharthajoshi.com/2012/04/kidnapped-missing-killed.html
Sunday, April 22, 2012. AP/ Dave Pickoff, file. A sudden rush of emotions engulfed me today as I sat in the bus and read the story of Etan Patz. I am not a parent, but I feel completely empathy to the parents who lose their young ones, never fully knowing what actually happened to their kids. Many of them would even die without knowing the answers, and what a life would that be. A hope that some miracle would happen someday. Equally taxing to my senses was the documentary 'The Children of Taliban'. In th...

Lost and Found: February 2012

Saturday, February 18, 2012. Empathy. Its something people have spoken about often enough, especially at the d.school. Hmm. So where do I exist? I was unsure, and I still am. Sometimes I connect with people, but I am still unsure if I empathize with them completely; do I feel their pain, their joys, their worries, their anxieties? I have tried this earlier as well (connecting with people through my thoughts), and have never been so sure about its efficacy. Maybe it works. Maybe. Posted by Siddhartha Joshi.

Monday, March 12, 2012. Music starts only when the end credits start rolling in. You are almost overwhelmed by emotions by then, but they don't overpower you. They linger on.and you do not want to let go of them. There are plenty of reviews about the movie on the web, but I am yet to read any. I will do that soon though, maybe later in the night. But I am convinced that a movie which wins the "Best Foreign Movie' award at the Oscars would surely have glowing reviews. Image source: www.laist.com. Wrapped ...

Friday, August 26, 2011. A night to remember. As the sun set and the cool breeze started blowing, we decided to walk back home crossing the bridge over Sabarmati. I looked sideways to see Sudha smiling and talking animatedly, yet never looking at me. So have you ever tried the filter coffee at Sridarshini? Karan laughed out loud and said, 'That's not exactly fair, am just a day old here and all I have see so far is you, though still not enough of you! Posted by Siddhartha Joshi. Saturday, October 29, 2011. Ghosts of my god. The sound of the bell kept playing in my head hours after the aarti. For now, I live with my ghosts, with the bells chasing me everywhere. Posted by Siddhartha Joshi. Friday, October 21, 2011. Happy couple, eh! The day has already started and I am already in office and already developing the concept shortlisted yesterday. But no, the post is not as lame as the first line here. In any case, I was happy to see them happy :). Posted by Siddhartha Joshi. I will s...
