Goulden Moments

Saturday, January 04, 2014. This isn't going terribly well, is it? Internet connection is pretty shocking in India, at least in the places we've been top so far. Varanasi, full of religious stuff and cows and monkeys and tiny alleyways and lots of people, where it's always fun to see if you can count to ten before someone trys to sell you something. Aurangabad, which I'd never heard of a few weeks ago, with lots of exciting caves and the poor man's taj mahal, and precious little internet. I have chalked ...

Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Did you know that it cost 100000 RMB to set up a business in China? Thats about 7000 quid, which is quite a lot. Also, in other news, I'm going to finish my manuscript tonight. That's not something you can say everyday is it? And the exciting thing is that I'll probably be able to say it tomorrow as well, cos I probably wont be able to get it done. All good my end of the woods. Tip of the week is that Sweden spells nedews backwards, which is ancient anglo saxon for 'Golly'.

Saturday, December 28, 2013. Goulden Moments is back as Angela and I traverse India! First stop, Delhi, and the interestingly named Eurostar International hotel, complete with fan, curtains, lovely view of a concrete wall and mild wee aroma. A few hours here then off to the airport to fly to Varanasi. Which, apparently, is nice. More soon. Talkbacks please, let's get this show back on the road!

Friday, August 26, 2005. Hasta La Vista, Bloggi. To the bloggers of this world who have, from time to time, been good enough to read this blog and comment on it,. As you may have noticed, of late I have not been posting. I think the time has come to formally declare that Goulden Moments is going into hibernation for the while. On that note, a fond ta taa,. Thursday, January 29, 2004. The photos of Bukansan (Mount Bukhan) are up, as well as Changdeokgung Palace, which I visited on Saturday. The palace was quite an experience, and though I was more interested in the photography - I always get a bit of an itchy shutter-finger when I see pagodas - what I picked up from the tour guide was pretty interesting. You might rightly ask. The answer is because they weren't done with using it yet! Posted by Ninjamin on Thursday, January 29, 2004. Clever" people will tel...

Life in Scuola: x'è ben!

http://ninjamin.blogspot.com/2004/12/x-ben.html

Thursday, December 02, 2004. On the whole, it tends to come in the evenings and weekends, and goes away again on Monday morning. That I'm sat on a stool in an internet shop is testament to the fact that my school is woefully under-resourced. No computers, broken tape-recorders, a tiny blackboard. Last week I caused a crisis by borrowing. Well that's the background, for starters. When I have the appetite for it. Posted by Ninjamin on Thursday, December 02, 2004. Yes, it's a working title. Unlike in Saigon, though, Itaewon is still infested with not-very-clever G.I.s, but the little darlings have to be in bed by midnight, so it's usually OK to hide out in a non-G.I. bar until the cries of "fawk you man" disappear. Life in Scuola: wanderlust for life?

http://ninjamin.blogspot.com/2004/09/wanderlust-for-life.html

Friday, September 10, 2004. There is nothing worse for mortals than a life of roaming." - Homer. If we really think that home is elsewhere and that this life is a 'wandering to find home,' why should we not look forward to the arrival? In the words of many a barstool Socrates, it’s all relative, of course, and I’ll probably get used to it in time, but then again maybe I won’t. Perhaps I’m doomed to meander around for eternity. Thursday, September 02, 2004. Two posts in a day. Sometimes I think I spoil you guys. I am in a significantly less pleasant mood than I was three hours ago. Apparently, despite never missing a single class all year, I am not entitled to my no sick days bonus. Whyever not? Me: "Hi. I need to do two things: I want to transfer all of my money to an account in England, and then I would like you to close my KB Star account, please.". Bank Clerk: "OK. transfer? Me: "Yes, please. Annoying people in parks since 1979. Monday, February 16, 2004. Sorry for absence; if I was allowed to write this at work I'd be much better at posting more frequently. At the moment I am attempting to edit the work of dim-witted history teachers. Their glossaries are shockingly bad. It is admittedly quite difficult to define some words consisely and simply, but some of these teachers are just plainly incompetent. Let me give you a few examples of their uselessness:.
