NICKY CORREA ART: August 2013
http://nickycorreaart.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 18 August 2013. My Love Affair With Oil Pastel. I get a little out of breath when I create that first line, that rich buttery bold line on that stark white watercolour paper. That first line is always so important and when I start with that line, I always know how the rest of the piece is going to go. I always know if it’s going to bring me my happy in the end. I’m crazy. But that’s okay because it works for me and allows me to create art I love. Some people look at my pieces and ask me which pie...

NICKY CORREA ART: The Making of 'Jennifer'
http://nickycorreaart.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-making-of-jennifer.html
Tuesday, 1 October 2013. The Making of 'Jennifer'. A quick outline of the pose. Accuracy here isn't the focus in this stage and will come with colour in stages to come. Although I love starting from the edges and working my way to the centre, I tried a different path this time. I began adding colour from the bottom and worked my way to the top. The finished piece complete with detail work. Photographed in proper lighting and ready to go! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Give Me A Shout!

NICKY CORREA ART: Come Dance With Me
http://nickycorreaart.blogspot.com/2013/08/come-dance-with-me.html
Saturday, 3 August 2013. Come Dance With Me. The Dancer' Acrylic Paint on Masonite Wood Board, 36in x 48in. Remember the scene where you could see the soul of her voice being sucked out of her straight into that ball? Well not to sound too dramatic but I’ve had my share of soul sucking moments with my craft. So far, art has done nothing but help me. I’m emotionally healthy and couldn’t be happier with the relationship that I now have with my craft. I finally feel like loving myself wasn’t wrong....

NICKY CORREA ART: Strangers Know My Secret.
http://nickycorreaart.blogspot.com/2013/07/strangers-know-my-secret.html
Tuesday, 23 July 2013. Strangers Know My Secret. Art has always made a huge impact on my life. My artistic thoughts and ideas have always been my deepest darkest secrets. Until last year the idea of expressing my experimentations and creativity was frightening, sinful even, mainly because of my traditional Indian culture and upbringing. I was always afraid that I would embarrass the people I loved the most by being open with who I really was. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Give Me A Shout!
