Prima Facie: Our Nations T.J.
http://primafacie-gav.blogspot.com/2010/06/our-nations-tj.html
Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Our Nations T.J. As many of you know (all of you, probably), I went to a wedding in D.C. over the weekend. If you need a recap, visit Dn. This is T.J. Please note that I emailed a fellow traveler to obtain one of the photos to create the animation before Dn posted his .gifs. Not that it matters, just that I'm not a total copycat phony. Prima Facie: Overseas Adventure (Part 1)
http://primafacie-gav.blogspot.com/2010/08/overseas-adventure-part-1.html
Sunday, August 15, 2010. Overseas Adventure (Part 1). Friday night, I was discussing some upcoming trips with a friend. One next month to NYC and a second next summer to France. Coincidently, the next day, in a bedroom drawer I stumbled on a Legal Pad with notes from a 2008 excursion to Russia with my sister and brother-in-law. I've transcribed those notes here. If nothing else, it should waste some time as you browse the net. Islip, New York. Who are the assholes that get a stretch limo from Islip?

Tornado Slide: July 2014
http://tornadoslide.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 20, 2014. I'm positive we all have very vivid memories of Wednesday, October 8, 2008, when I first discussed. The video to Blue Oyster Cult's "Burnin' For You". Since Pete Holmes talked to him about his insane performances at Sing Sing prison. I've been listening to Dave Hill's podcast ( The Goddamn Dave Hill Show. The Malcolm Gladwell from March 18 is a good introduction) and following him on Twitter. Yesterday, he wrote a fun piece on the BOC video. Holy shit, this song is fucking awesome.

Prima Facie: December 2009
http://primafacie-gav.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 6, 2009. Fighting to Stay Alively. Last night I watched SNL, then went to bed. I had a dream that I was at the taping of last night's episode with host Blake Lively (Me-Ow! But did not make it past the monologue. Here's how it went: Opening Bit (Armisen played the president, yada-yada-yada), intro showing the cast, and Lively walked out to the stage and proposed following her as she took us through the previous week of her first SNL experience. Blake Lively almost killed me in my dreams.

Philip: My beef with Linux RAID
http://philipweaver.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-beef-with-linux-raid.html
Friday, January 29, 2010. My beef with Linux RAID. I have used software RAID. In Linux in the past, via mdadm. I believe it has resulted in lost data more times than it has saved me from losing data. I have since switched to ZFS. On FreeBSD) and have survived many situations that could have resulted in lost data. I'd like to be able to switch back to using Linux, so I have been doing some research on Linux RAID. Today I came across this article. Which contains the following text:. In ZFS, no problem!

Philip: Baby Food
http://philipweaver.blogspot.com/2010/01/baby-food.html
Friday, January 29, 2010. This is the time when Ada begins trying food. She has shown the signs that she is ready: sitting up, grabbing everything and putting it in her mouth, gagging; these skills develop simultaneously in babies. Also, she just turned 6 months old, which is a common time for breastfed babies to start trying food. This period is all about tasting. She eats very little. She plays with her food. This is baby-led weaning. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My beef with Linux RAID.

Baby Ada was born 7/23, 10:43 PDT. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long. I think her head circumference was 13.5 inches. That caused her to come out all at once. At the beginning of the final push, all we could see was the hair on Ada's head, and then she came out all at once. Links to this post. I bou...
