light-in-leaves: Detailing
http://light-in-leaves.blogspot.com/2009/03/detailing.html
Thursday, March 5, 2009. Here is something I miss about the days before I had 3 children constantly attached to my limbs. I used to carry around a notebook and write things in it (Don't worry. Not a. Just odd details about people I saw, or little funny conversations I overheard, etc. Nothing that would make a great contribution to anyone's knowledge of life or anything, but I loved having those things recorded so I could think about them later. Now, I never have time to notate- -or often even. Taring at ...

light-in-leaves: Five
http://light-in-leaves.blogspot.com/2011/06/five.html
Friday, June 17, 2011. Everyone has been asking me, "How is it with five kids? The other day in an ill-advised fit of productivity, I set out with the children to Costco. Abe and Seb are out of school for the summer, so I thought they could help me and it would be better than going with just the little ones. I think I forgot about how you can't see over the cart with a baby seat in it, so it's not a question of whether. You're going to crash into someone but how often,. I need to sit down! And Sebby and ...

light-in-leaves: Montreal Trip part VI: the Lac
http://light-in-leaves.blogspot.com/2015/08/montreal-trip-part-v-lac.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Montreal Trip part VI: the Lac. The lake at sunrise—I love that mist hovering above the water. If you look closely you can see a tiny rainbow under the cloud. Sam liked the way this water was red or blue depending on where the light hit. August 6, 2015 at 7:25 AM. This makes me think, quite seriously, that I could so easily confront lifes problems and quickly grab ahold of peace and perspective . . . if I just had a lake in my backyard! August 6, 2015 at 2:12 PM. Cling, swing,.

light-in-leaves: Like shining from shook foil
http://light-in-leaves.blogspot.com/2010/08/like-shining-from-shook-foil.html
Sunday, August 8, 2010. Like shining from shook foil. Last Sunday we were out on our bikes when the clouds started looking really cool. There were huge mammatus. Up again, but the comparison is apt) so of course we took off in Great Nerdy Haste to the edge of the hill where we could watch the whole thing unfold before us. The vertical sections of cloud had that eroded, cut-away look- -like the rock layers. The clouds were so. The clouds did get that red color you see when there's smoke in the air.).

light-in-leaves: Bright (Mari)Gold
http://light-in-leaves.blogspot.com/2013/06/bright-marigold.html
Tuesday, June 18, 2013. This is a story about my family, and how we became. . . a bigger family. And about their strength, and how some of them risked certain death for me, and others asked to be paid in cheese. In short, it is a story about Gratitude. I hadn't gone past my due date in any of my pregnancies since Abraham (who was a day late) (and a dollar short) (ha ha), and as much as I told myself I was prepared for whatever happened, I wasn't expecting that. After a few days of this, I started eyeing ...

light-in-leaves: Albion Basin Wildflowers
http://light-in-leaves.blogspot.com/2014/07/albion-basin-wildflowers.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. The children and I did this hike. A couple times last year and it was one of the best things ever, so we were all really excited to get up to the canyon again. The wildflowers are so stunning! We are always talking about how lucky we are to live near these canyons. I will never get tired of them. I don't know if the Albion Basin. Famous for wildflowers, but it should be! The wildflowers are just packed into every little space between the rocks. It's almost indecent. After finishin...

light-in-leaves: Montreal Trip Part III: In which I conduit my children with amour
http://light-in-leaves.blogspot.com/2015/08/montreal-trip-part-iii-in-which-i.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Montreal Trip Part III: In which I conduit. My children with amour. After a little ways the gravel road turned to paved road, but it was still quiet and secluded, with hardly any traffic. One of the things that most surprised me about being in Quebec was how much of a foreign country it was! And everything just felt…foreign. Has that meaning in French where fresh. In English doesn't. Thierry's English is so impeccable that that was the only shade of meaning he missed all week!

light-in-leaves: Daisy
http://light-in-leaves.blogspot.com/2009/08/daisy.html
Thursday, August 13, 2009. Morning has broken, like the first morning. Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird. Praise for the singing, praise for the morning. Praise for the springing fresh from the word. Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven. Like the first dewfall, on the first grass. Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden. Sprung in completeness where his feet pass. Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning. Born of the one light Eden saw play. Praise with elation, praise every morning.
