2012 International white cane day in calabar. AFUB/NAB YOUTH EMPOERMENT PROJECT. Boy brigade and the Band. As part of the annual activities of the Association designed to create public awareness on important blindness issues, the association, on the 15th of October, annually observes the white cane Safety day which is an international event and has greatly contributed to the social acceptance of the white cane as a symbol of our independence and of the blind citizens in our society.
