Friday, December 18, 2009. We finally got our tree decorated! Those are the little things that bind a family together and are so precious that they are easy to take for granted. This Christmas, it is my commitment to myself to not take one small, precious moment for granted. but to savour each and every one. Monday, December 14, 2009. My Favorite Narnia Scene. If you can understand. Well, it came closer up to me and looked straight into my eyes. And I shut my eyes tight. But that wasn't any g...For I was...

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sunday, March 6, 2011. The Power of Tears. I came across this poem the other day while reading a post by a friend of mine. I found it to be such a wonderful expression of the healing nature of tears and why it is important that we honor our emotions and allow them to be expressed. I came home, went straight to my room,. Sat on the edge of my bed,. Kicked off my shoes,. Unhooked my bra,. And I had myself a good cry. I'm telling you,. I cried until my nose was running all over. The silk blouse I got on sale.

Tuesday, July 20, 2010. The Love of God. Romans 8:35-39 -" Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? These words, from God Himself to us brings me such comfort. I choose to see myself as God sees me. No, I am not perfect and yes, I make mistakes. I am learning from those mistakes and growing every day. But, His love for me is so strong, so constant, and so tender. it brings tears to my eyes. Monday, July 19, 2010.

Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Sunday, September 19, 2010. The Meeting Place of Two Eternities. May I have the strength and the wisdom to live for today, to embrace the gifts of this day and to make today all it can be. No matter what is happening in my life, I want to choose life and love and joy. All I can control is my choices day to day, moment to moment. God give me what I need to make the best choices I can for this day. I still see the beauty of life all around me and I choose to embrace that.

Monday, January 10, 2011. A very wise person I have come to respect often refers to something called "The Stockdale Paradox" as an approach to dealing with difficult circumstances in life. Refers to Admiral Jim Stockdale. Who was the highest ranking United States military officer in the “Hanoi Hilton” prisoner-of-war camp during the height of the Vietnam War. Tortured over 20 times during his eight-year imprisonment from 1965 to 1973… in Jim Collins. Book “Good to Great” chapter 4 page 83. Heather and Ch...
