while i’m on the subject | Another Damn Wedding
http://www.anotherdamnwedding.com/2010/05/28/while-im-on-the-subject
A blog about a stranger's dumb wedding. While i’m on the subject. May 28, 2010. Listen. I have to come completely clean with you. The wine stoppers. Those weren’t the only DIY I tried. I’m sorry, OK? I wasn’t going to say anything about it, but it’s just that we’ve come to trust each other. I felt I had to tell you… that I also dabbled in tiered dessert stands. I’ll give you a moment. First, get some plates and glasses. My glasses came from a thrift store. Plus 20 points! Lay out all your supplies. Ed no...

our ceremony | Another Damn Wedding
http://www.anotherdamnwedding.com/2011/01/09/our-ceremony
A blog about a stranger's dumb wedding. January 9, 2011. One of the hardest things we did for the wedding was write our own ceremony. It seemed like such a monumental task — even bigger than choosing the venue, or the ordeal of making the invitations — because it was solely about the relationship between. What did we want to say? What kind of meaning did we want to inject? Thankfully, we had resources. I started by turning to wedding bloggers who’d gone before — The Thirty-Something Bride. Randall breaks...

smile in motion: March 2011
http://smileinmotion.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
March 8, 2011. I'm outta here for a bit! Off for some vacay! I could really use a beach, relaxation vacay, but we tend to take spring break trips not to someplace warm and sunny but to snowy mountains. So I'm off to tire myself out on the slopes and hopefully find zen in carved turns, tried muscles, hot tubs, and long naps in the car ride home. March 7, 2011. Where people are mainly positive and supportive, where women are taking ownership of their lives and feelings, and where *knock on wood*. The conte...

What I Learned From Dress Fitting Stress | HitchDied

Arising Under →. What I Learned From Dress Fitting Stress. May 17, 2011. This is a post that is going to talk about weight, specifically me worrying about my weight and body size even though I am a thin person. So you might not want to read this if you struggle with disordered eating or body image problems or even if weight talk just makes your eyes roll. But it does have a happy ending.]. Doesn’t that sound like a recipe for neurotic disaster? It was, and I wish I’d never done it. I avoided weighing mys...

smile in motion: Blog Land Love
http://smileinmotion.blogspot.com/2011/03/blog-land-love.html
March 7, 2011. Every once in a while, we get to be a part of something special. Sometimes, like in blog land, it is a sustained feeling in a community of people that truly amazes me. We found a place, on the internet. Where people are mainly positive and supportive, where women are taking ownership of their lives and feelings, and where *knock on wood*. The trolls have yet to come. Pretty neato! Then blog land goes above and beyond, and I am again astounded. Here is the story:. With all the crazy. After ...

Belarus and other such dictatorships | Nothing Ventured

Nine months as a Kiva Fellow in Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine. Moldova and its best friend Transdniester →. Belarus and other such dictatorships. June 15, 2012. The Bernardine Church of Hrodna, reflected in a broken window. My post-fellowship travels have begun! And what better way to celebrate my newfound freedom than to go vacationing in a KGB dictatorship? Minsk makes Stalinism look good. No, I never thought I would say those words either. I’ll give you a moment to try to grasp that. The inflati...

Movie Review: A Quiet Little Marriage. Our Biggest Fight →. October 6, 2010. When I was at the Running of the Brides. I overheard something that made me want to cry. A bride-to-be was wearing a lovely dress that looked stunning in the front, but couldn’t zip up in the back. Instead of saying, “Aw, nertz” and moving on to another dress, she said, in a voice that sounded stretched over terror, “I have eight months. And this way, I’ll. And I hate that it is GETTING TO ME. Me! A believer in fat acceptance!

Newer posts →. Royal Wedding Almost-Live Blog. April 29, 2011. I’m watching The Royal Wedding. I have had three hours sleep, and it’s only because I snoozed for an hour that I got that many, which means a) I’m a little punchy b) I missed a WHOLE HOUR of people in elaborate hats strollin’ in while the commentators try their hardest to find something interesting to say about all this. So sorry! You heard it on NBC first. I want to go back in time and tell 16-year-old Robin that over the next ten years Prin...

DIY: Swiss Army Inspired Folding Camp Stools | ModHomeEc
http://www.modhomeec.com/2012/04/05/swiss-cross-folding-camp-stools
DIY: Swiss Army Inspired Folding Camp Stools. Thursday, April 5th, 2012. It should come as no surprise that I grabbed these two folding tables from Goodwill for some future project I was imagining while in a creative frenzy. That was two years ago. This week was The Week! Let me show you how I transformed the outdated, drab toteable tables into cushy, upholstered, Swiss Army themed folding camp stools? They turned out quite dandy, if I do say so myself. Here are the tables right after I brought them home.

What I Learned From Dress Fitting Stress. The New HitchDied.com →. May 18, 2011. If I were telling the story of how I met Collin the way Ted Mosby would, I’d have to start with a little legal lesson on 28 U.S.C. 1331, which grants jurisdiction to federal courts on all matters arising under federal law. Matt and Carrie even met my little brother John that summer. It was hilarious to me when John was in for Christmas one year and I tried to introduce them and Carrie was like, “Uh, I met John back...Anyway,...
