https://samer.cc/projects/panopticon
In collaboration with Paula Te, Martino Bilello, Henriette Kruse at CIID. Panopticon is an interactive installation that examines notions of surveillance and control. The installation monitors streams of data sent out by the installations of our fellow students. Inside is a surveillance booth with a peephole, allowing the surveilling person to peek at another installation’s data, represented in visualizations generated with Processing. The project was realized using Noam.

Little projects to change the world…. TinkurWash – A Talking Dishwasher. I love technology because it enables new ways of solving old problems. I wanted to give the dishwasher a voice – a social experiment. If the dishwasher could talk to people – telling them when it needs run or when it needs unloaded – would it help optimizing the flow of dishes? Most people want to be helpful, but sometimes they need better instrumentation and information. I outlined the questions I needed to answer. While I certainl...

Little projects to change the world…. The Future of Hardware, Software, and The Physical World – Takeaways from O’Reilly Solid 2014. I wasn’t sure what to expect of conference. Beachsand and the Talking Bell. Bringing Noam to life using a classic video game metaphor. April 15, 2015. Is a software-messaging platform created by IDEO. To help hardware and software tools communicate with one another. To introduce Noam to the world, we wanted to build a physical manifestation of the platform, something that was like Noam fun and exciting but also remarkably simple to use. After a bit of brainstorming, we hit on the perfect idea: a Noam-enabled modern twist on Pong. The Pong-a-tron w...
