Art in the Middle...school: Be a Super Hero!
http://carlisleartclass.blogspot.com/2015/05/be-super-hero.html
Thursday, May 7, 2015. Be a Super Hero! Drawing portraits is always an interesting challenge for middle school kids. They developing from Dawning Realism to the Pseudo-Naturalistic Stage. And they can be super critical of themselves. It is important that they learn the rules of drawing a face but that they also have the "freedom" to make mistakes. We start the lesson by having them draw "the best human face" that they can. They next class period we work together through this worksheet. Believe it or not.

http://carlisleartclass.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 19, 2015. From the last post, students were given the task of creating a project that was some sort of bowl and used the coil method to create it. Here are a few more examples. Some students used plastic bowls for their "molds". And some students just decided to free-build their projects. It was a lot of fun to see all their creativity! Friday, January 16, 2015. Awhile back I headed to our local Menards to buy Taco Bowls. Wednesday, January 14, 2015. A Funny to Share. So one of my last da...

Art in the Middle...school: Perspective Project
http://carlisleartclass.blogspot.com/2015/05/perspective-project.html
Monday, May 11, 2015. This was our actual perspective project. PERSONAL ART GALLERIES. I told the kids they were like "bajilionaires" and could buy any artwork they wanted. We worked together to draw a gallery and then they filled the walls with famous works of art. We also created exteriors for our art museums. They could make them simple, ornate or just plain crazy. They just had to have doors that entered into the art gallery. You can check out more at our artsonia site. Believe it or not. We all have...

That means we are shoving all the classes (and the wound up kiddo's) into the morning and we will spend the afternoon at the track. It is an awesome day that is capped off with the big event: THE TUG OF WAR. The 6th grade Pink Roughnecks. The 6th Grade Black Phantoms. Probably my favorite decoration this year). After the u...
