Client Service Insights (CSI): February 2010
http://clientserviceinsights.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Client Service Insights (CSI). Client service excellence isn't about doing what no one else can do; it's about doing what anyone can do, but doesn't. Saturday, February 27, 2010. Last year, I read Tom Rath's. Book StrengthsFinder 2.0. I highly recommend it. Small book, big impact! It's true isn't it? Does that mean we should just ignore our weaknesses? Probably not. But if the three-point shot is your strength, then you may be best served by staying late after practice to shoot a few hundred more! She as...

Thoughts from my Chinese Notebook – 10/20/11. October 24, 2011 at 8:49 PM. I thought Steele Headed could use a regularly featured short post. This Chinese notebook Steve Ripple. Brought from his two-year adventure in Guang Zhou is just the ticket. Hope you enjoy what I can fit in two pages or less. As for me, I get the prospect of new opportunities. A chance to change my career, my location, my life. Dream seeds. I’ve planted them for the last few years and it’s time to sow. 3 Comments Add your own.

What I learned in graduate school in 700 words. May 8, 2012 at 7:17 AM. If you *really* want to know everything I learned in graduate school, it’s mostly captured in my thesis. Imagine that paragraph times 500. Ugh. Give me 140c any day ( – this sentence is 81c including this.). And I’m constantly asked about going back to graduate school: “Is it worth it? 8221; “Should I? If you have to ask, I’d say you haven’t done enough research on your own. But that’s not always the mentality o...1) Graduate school ...

Archive for December, 2011. My new gig: the offer I couldn’t refuse. For those who know me IRL. Or read about it here. You know I’ve been on a job search for the last few weeks. Having my position eliminated at the end of October gave me the chance for some much needed introspection and the opportunity to redirect my career. Being unemployed was unnerving, but I knew that the time was right for a career change. With my MA degree nearly finished, I was ready to take my next steps. So what would I do?

Archive for November, 2011. PRSA attempts to Define our industry. Being a relative new-comer to the Public Relations industry, I find myself in a situation familiar to most veteran PR professionals: unable to explain exactly what I do. Most of my Gen-Y friends see what I do as a sub-set of advertising. Others view me simply as a corporate writer, while a few think I just play on Facebook and Twitter all day. Themselves), but I did want to share my definition. Key stakeholders of an organization. There’s ...

Archive for December, 2009. 8212; Sorry I didn’t leave a note…. No one likes to feel neglected. So I apologize to the marginally existent Steele Headed audience for my lack of postings the last few months. But amongst a busy school semester and working, I haven’t totally ignored social media. It’s no secret that I’m (overly) active on my Twitter page. And spend a bit of time on Facebook. Since my last Steele Headed post, I also started up a Posterous page. Played around with blip.fm. As a side note, Aman...

Archive for July, 2011. Gone fishin’ (or why I’ve gone rogue for 18 months). My apologies for neglecting my blog for the better part of two years. I’d like to tell you I’ve been gone fishing this whole time, but I’m not sure my angling skills are sufficient enough to provide for that long (although it did fill our bellies for 53 days in the arctic. My sudden and unexplained disappearance from the blogosphere has been for two main reasons and is best summarized with 5 letters:. Finishing my M.A. The coffe...

Giving Thanks to my mentors and colleagues. December 13, 2011 at 12:05 AM. This thank you post has been a long time coming. Symbolic, perhaps, of people’s proclivity to put off and sometimes forget to thank people in their lives. For all the joy and retribution I get from acknowledging my appreciation of other people’s support, I certainly don’t do it often enough. If you don’t know me. Personally, this post won’t mean much, but I’ve kept relevant copy near the top of each section at a more general level.

The Power of Reflection (part 1 of 2) | Steele Headed
https://steeleheaded.wordpress.com//2012/02/01/workplacreflection
The Power of Reflection (part 1 of 2). February 1, 2012 at 6:57 AM. A prism shows the power of reflection turning one condensed blur into a variety of light points. Reflection – A daily exercise. It’s a trite way to start any piece of writing, but looking at the definition of reflection ( see #6 or 7. Truly sums up what this post is all about: taking time to look at one’s self is important. And not in a vain way, but in a truly introspective, self-betterment kind of way. Am I as far as I thought I’d be?
