Sunday, July 22, 2012. This time it's personal. I loved Duskull, and then Dusclops came along and was kind of a disappointment, and now Dusknoir is like a character assassination on the whole thing. Did they have yellow bands all over the goddamn place? Did they have a ridiculous collar? I don't frigging think so. How hard is it, Gamefreak, to stick to a theme? Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Let's shed some light. On the situation, shall we? If I had to pick the three standout stars of Gen 5, it would easily be Cofagrigus, Galvantula, and Chandelure. These three not only demonstrate cool typings/gameplay niches, but they're also fantastic designs that while you wouldn't mistake them for Gen 1, are prime examples of the best in modern Pokemon design. Friday, April 27, 2012. Balloons aren't normally scary, so Gamefreak did their best to make this Ghost/Flying at least a little strange, but someone they also made it look ridiculous instead. The little puff of whipped cream on top is a good example. I know it's supposed to be a cloud, but. no way am I not gonna look at that and not think "that is whipped cream". Sunday, January 8, 2012. Thank Goodness for Great Ghosts. Now, while Shuppet and Banette don't do anything for me, Duskull makes me want to get up and cheer. Or, get up and start chanting in an ancient, dead tongue while flames lick up all around me and I probably turn into either a cloud of bats or smoke, and maybe then it rains blood. Plus, Duskull is also kinda adorable, isn't it? Yet also creepy at the same time. It exists in that perfect Venn Diagram overlap between "creepy" and "cute".

Friday, December 31, 2010. I've been waiting for this all my goddamn life. Haunter is, quite possibly, my favorite pokemon of all time. Actually, scratch that, Haunter is THE FAVORITE POKEMON OF ALL TIME. for me. Everything about him is perfect. The floating hands, the jack-o-lantern mouth, the spiky head, the EVERYTHING. Was thinking the other day about how Gamefreak has continued to put unreleased Pokemon into the code (to be found by data-miners) long into the age where you can, you know, do updates and stuff. I wonder why they do it this was, aside from a lack of interest in their craft? Are they THAT incompetent, that they haven't learned how to implement DLC yet? And I don't even have to mention online battles, since that means you've got a connection, so clearly you can get the update.
