Monday, November 30, 2009. My Thanksgiving was quite delicious this year, and happily without hitch or difficulty. Our good friends even had a baby. And we spent some e-mail time cooing over the darling newborn pictures. I avoided Black Friday and managed to get all my Christmas shopping done with the help of Etsy. Sobering up your internet. December 24, 2009. And a belated happy Hanukkah, and if you’re not a Judeo-Christian sort of person, happy whatever-winter-solstice-type-holiday-you-celebrate. And if you’re the sort of atheist that I am, Merry Christmas. I’m preparing to listen to the annual Nine Lessons and Carols. One of my most cherished memories is, when I was perhaps 11 or 12, singing the opening solo in Once in Royal David’s City. It was both formative and beneficial, and something I’ll never forget.

Get to Know Us. Who knew that Groundhog Day would ever become a meaningful day in our lives? There aren’t the right words to tell you this…. WE GOT THE CALL FROM THE CASEWORKER….they chose us to be his parents! The joy in our hearts right now can not be described. We already feel blessed beyond words, I can’t even imagine how it will feel to read him his first bedtime story, kiss his first boo-boo, build our first snowman….ahh, the tears just flow when I think about it. Sobering up your internet. July 27, 2009. I just now realized why people like to take macro shots of flowers. It’s because they look like tiny alien creatures, much more beautiful than we could ever hope to be. Seeing macros of these pretty little things reminds us of just how strange they are, both because they are foreign to us, and because they are more like us than we expect. Posted in Random Thoughts.
