notes from a small shed

Notes from a small shed. Friday, July 3, 2015. Every garden needs a dragon. Just when we had given up. We were looking for a toadstool for another part of the border a shady boring bit when all of a sudden he appeared,(obviously by magic as all dragons do), sleeping amongst bird baths. We loved him at first sight and so he is now in the garden just as we pictured him just waiting for a name. Sunday, June 21, 2015. It's been a funny and not so funny old week. Wednesday, however, no kettle, it died on us, ...

notes from a small shed: It's been a heron of a week

http://www.notesfromasmallshed.blogspot.com/2015/06/its-been-heron-of-week.html

Notes from a small shed. Sunday, June 7, 2015. It's been a heron of a week. And there above us were a flock of them circling over our heads really low. Come Tuesday out we were again looking for a kingfisher when Bri is looking down stream at Elford in the river Tame and there, sitting on a big tree stump right in the middle of the river was, yes you've guessed it, a very large Heron. Now, I want to know did the Heron follow us around all week, have we been hallucinating, have the Herons got it in for us?

notes from a small shed: March 2012

http://www.notesfromasmallshed.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Notes from a small shed. Monday, March 26, 2012. People who live in glass houses. It all started at the end of January. We were down at the lottie moving some things so that the hedge behind the shed could be trimmed, when our old friend John Badger came up to see us. He said that he was going to sell his greenhouse as he had bought a new one to use at home, so we got all excited and said that we would have it. And put her finger where she thought it was, she bent her finger on it! Not to mention bloggin...

Notes from a small shed. Friday, December 14, 2012. Molly and I were busy as usual getting her breakfast when we heard a knocking at the back door. A bit early but a visitor is a visitor and will always be made welcome at our house. Well you could have knocked us both down with a feather for there on the step were Molly's old friends Henry and Ferret who had moved house eighteen months ago. What a wonderful surprise wasn't it? Wednesday, 1 January 2014. A Happy New Year to my fellow plotters. As I write this, it's just coming up to 2pm, and becoming darker and more grim out there. Wednesday, 16 April 2014. Walking and Cooking in Andalucia. Perhaps this might be an idea for the harvest supper? Our chef allowed me to cut up and prepare a large squash from his own grandfather's garden. I don't know if I was more nervous of making a mess of it, or of his very large and very sharp chef's knife which I had to use. Why is there always someone who has to say "Be careful! notes from a small island

Notes from a small island. A few posts from Taiwan time. Thursday, 11 October 2007. Why should I care about Taiwan's geopolitical future? A recent exchange on Michael Turton’s blog has caused me to directly address this question. It should be easy enough to answer:. So why ask the question at all? Because I see little evidence that Taiwanese people really, really care. Where is the prolific debate in languages westerners understand? Where are the regular blanket advertisements in western media? What poss...

Just to show that what we do during the course isn't all serious stuff, we have recently been having a side debate about whether the Apple Mac is better than the PC or not.
