My Runaway Brain: June 2011
http://myrunawaybrain.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 9, 2011. Poppies and Other Flowers. This is the time of year when I get out my camera and run around the neighbourhood snapping pictures that I can use to create my paintings the whole year through. And this is a banner year for big, gorgeous blooms! Cheers to all of you green thumbs that have grown little pieces of heaven! I will care for them with my brushes. :). Posted by Sherri Bones Nelson. My Runaway Brain: Work In Progress - Mar 24
http://myrunawaybrain.blogspot.com/2011/03/work-in-progress-mar-24.html
Thursday, March 24, 2011. Work In Progress - Mar 24. My friend has requested that her husband buy her some original art for her birthday. She has a specific place in her house in mind for a piece, and she likes my florals. Other than telling me to avoid green and yellow, she hasn't given me much more to go on, so I hope the below will please her. We'll see:. Posted by Sherri Bones Nelson. Labels: buy canadian art. My Runaway Brain: Canada is On the Eve of Making History!
http://myrunawaybrain.blogspot.com/2011/05/canada-is-on-eve-of-making-history.html
Sunday, May 1, 2011. Canada is On the Eve of Making History! My fingers are crossed, and I'm ready to vote. Canadians are on the verge of having their own revolution - we are close to throwing out ALL conventional parties and putting into power a party that will represent the people of this country! Quebec started the energy charging when they - almost en masse. The very institution which he is asking to lead once more. The truth is that Canada must have change. We must. I hope that tomorrow, we ...Very ...

My Runaway Brain: December 2010
http://myrunawaybrain.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 30, 2010. I got an unexpected Christmas gift this year: two sales of original works that came through my website www.sherrinelson.ca. That prompted me to go immediately to the art supply store and pick up another large canvas (well. as soon as they re-opened I was there, anyway! I am almost sold out of my paintings at this point, which is terrific and I'm very thankful. but it means that I have work to do! 30" x 40" oil on canvas. 20" x 24" oil on canvas. Here's looking forward to 2011!

My Runaway Brain: Skeleton Crew
http://myrunawaybrain.blogspot.com/2011/03/skeleton-crew.html
Thursday, March 17, 2011. I wonder why I've been relatively obsessive about painting skeletons. And not just any skeletons - macabre ones, depicting frivolous scenes. I've taken my visual inspiration from the pin-up images of the past. and also from adverts that glorified the housewife. Some samples pepper this post. The American Dream is in its death-throes, and we fiddle. We bake cookies. We watch reality TV. We mull over kitchen renovations. Are we learning how to garden for food? Day of the dead art.

Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Work In Progerss - April 2011. Art Nouveau - Lady with a Leopard. She's a big one - 30" x 40" Gallery depth canvas. I get to this stage in a painting sometimes and I just want to leave it. sometimes I can be enchanted with a half done work and all the potential that still exists. Should be completed in a couple of days plus the drying time between layers. :D. Posted by Sherri Bones Nelson. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Painting Soothes the Soul.
