The daughter of a narcissistic mother finally recognizes the damage done . at age 40. June 15, 2013. A theme song for narcissists. I've loved the band OK GO. For years, ever since I first heard them as the house band for the 5th Anniversary Tour of the radio show This American Life. In the late 90s. Lot of knots, lot of snags,. Lot of holes, lot of cracks lot of crags. Lot of naggin' old hags,. Lot of fools, lot of fool scum bags. Oh it's such a drag, what a chore. Oh your wounds are full of salt. Love t...

The daughter of a narcissistic mother finally recognizes the damage done . at age 40. October 18, 2014. View from another angle . Two and a half years ago, I conjured up the courage to get back in touch with my father. I'd cut contact with him in 1991, at age 24, in the wake of many problems and about 15 years of extremely sporadic contact. At dinner with my father and my brother Jon, fall 2013. From my father's library: educational! Exorcism for a Midsummer's Night. Gather we now the dying light to mourn.

The daughter of a narcissistic mother finally recognizes the damage done . at age 40. August 18, 2006. I felt something just abruptly *snap* inside me. After putting in hours and days worth of planning and driving and coordinating and compromising my students and putting up with a houseguest from hell for six weeks, NOW she's going back on our deal, despite the fact that her reason was "I'm just not gonna"? I'd love to know). Line in the sand. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). How to navigate this blog.

house of bonsai: mission accomplished
http://houseofbonsai.blogspot.com/2006/11/mission-accomplished.html
The daughter of a narcissistic mother finally recognizes the damage done . at age 40. November 24, 2006. Rob and I had a beautiful wedding on Saturday. I'd had my doubts about having it at the school, simply because it seemed odd to get married where one works, but it was nothing short of wonderful. Rob, of course, loves the school so much that he more or less insisted, too! My students all chipped in with some work and made it happen, following my to-do lists for each of them to a T. Line in the sand.

The daughter of a narcissistic mother finally recognizes the damage done . at age 40. September 26, 2011. As seen from without . Re-establishing contact with my childhood friend "Jane" has been a real eye-opener for me. Although we'd been in touch briefly around the year 2000 (when she lived only one state away from me - - she now lives in the Midwest, nearly 1000 miles away), we lost touch thereafter. Facebook brought us back in touch last year. In addition to the backstory. I just remember like yesterd...

The daughter of a narcissistic mother finally recognizes the damage done . at age 40. December 25, 2008. It has been six months since my last post. 8 ). More detail to come, but in a nutshell:. Which is a class C felony. I CC:d my mother on the letter. All bank names, addresses, etc., have been munged to protect the willfully passive aggressive (as usual). I was able to manage the job adequately (certainly far from perfectly; it’s been a very busy time for me) for about five years. I began doin...At the ...

house of bonsai: Housekeeping
http://houseofbonsai.blogspot.com/2012/01/housekeeping.html
The daughter of a narcissistic mother finally recognizes the damage done . at age 40. January 11, 2012. I went through my files tonight, filing away new things and purging old files. It's a big job, as my husband and I moved in 2010 and have renovated our house for months on end - - I'm just getting around to getting re-organized! As I went through the files, I noticed some old baggage I've been hanging onto for decades - - through many file re-organizations indeed. The question is: why? I agree about th...

http://houseofbonsai.blogspot.com/2012/03/fun-with-mail.html
The daughter of a narcissistic mother finally recognizes the damage done . at age 40. March 29, 2012. My mother sent me plenty of nasty-gram snail mail, spewing as much venom as possible (or alternately, occasionally playing the victim card and telling me how "very sad" she was.) All of this was predictable. Less predictable was the fact that she began changing up the name she used for me when reaching me by mail. Amazingly, my letter carrier delivered them all, rather than sending them back. Mortified a...
