N Scale Adventures: Medium Layout

http://nscaleadventures.blogspot.com/p/medium-layout.html

An online chronicle of N scale layouts. Things that went well, mistakes made and lessons learned. This is my never ending layout. It's a 3'x7' double track oval with various sidings. Significant progress has been made, but there were also many mistakes made. I need to rewire all the track for starters. I also am not too happy with the overall design. And here's the most recent picture of the layout. It's a little more complete than this, but it gives you a general idea of where I'm at:.

N Scale Adventures: Prototypical Operations on a Small Layout

http://nscaleadventures.blogspot.com/2012/03/prototypical-operations-on-small-layout.html

An online chronicle of N scale layouts. Things that went well, mistakes made and lessons learned. Friday, March 30, 2012. Prototypical Operations on a Small Layout. Life took precedence over the transfer table staging project, and progress on that got postponed for at least a month or two. In the meantime, I had a more immediate issue. I’m about 40% done with the small layout. After combing the web, I found the following resources to be the most useful:. Washington State Rail System Map. After combing th...

N Scale Adventures: Transfer Table Staging-Part III

http://nscaleadventures.blogspot.com/2011/11/transfer-table-staging-part-iii.html

An online chronicle of N scale layouts. Things that went well, mistakes made and lessons learned. Friday, November 18, 2011. Transfer Table Staging-Part III. Transfer Table Staging-Part II. Last night I fixed the wiggle. I started by taking apart the shelf. Then I took a right-angle to the rails and realized that they weren’t exactly 90 degrees to the wall. There was almost 3/16th of an inch difference between the front and the back. This really made it sturdy as a rock! Technorati Tags: n scale.

Terry Pitts - N Scale Home Page

N Site of the Week. New N Scale Products. Has released an EMD SDP0F in two road numbers each for two different Amtrak phases as well as a couple post-Amtrak versions. I've ordered three of these and the Southwest Limited passenger car set. I'll have to add this to my passenger train page. I'm looking forward to getting these; I got to ride in the cab of an SDP40F for a couple hours when I was 15. It was quite an experience! I've not heard of GHB International. But a recent issue of N Scale. U23B is out i...

Model Railroading in 1:160. Lumber and Gypsum Loads. N Scale For Sale. Sunday, August 28, 2016. Grain Elevator Complex - First Step on a New Layout. Here is the elevator I haul to often in Council Bluffs. It's not a great facility in that it gets backed up quickly due to a single and slow truck pit (grey building to the right of the tower dryer). But, it does offer unique modeling opportunities. My grain complex will have a few design components from this site. Even though I tried to mate each bin to the...

Continued from Transfer Table Staging-Part V. Just a quick update. The styrene piece I was using to trigger the photo-interrupter sensor had a blunt edge.  This was causing the drawer to stop at two different spots depending on the direction of travel.  One of the forum members at nscale.net.
