Days Afield: March 2008
http://daysafield-dv.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 29, 2008. Well, with spring turkey season already open in some places, and rapidly approaching here in New Jersey, I thought I'd throw up a turkey hunting video we made from a past season. I have alot of fun video taping hunts, and we seem to capture some pretty good turkey hunts. You may have to turn up your sound a little, the audio was not that good. Hope you enjoy it. Days Afield: Is it September yet?
http://daysafield-dv.blogspot.com/2008/06/is-it-september-yet.html
Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Is it September yet? The heat of summer had me longing for cool autumn days and crisp, frosty mornings, and of course, bow season. For most of the afternoon, me and my two brothers sat around reliving old hunts through probably somewhat embelished hunting stories.well, at least. Sitting around talking hunting with my brothers, re-reading those journals and watching some of our videos has me asking. Is it September yet? It'll be here soon, and I'll be ready. Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Getting the Bird Flu. 8220; it’s venison sausage with apples and cinnamon, taste’s like apple pie. I’ll take your word for it". I replied. We set off to one of his favorite haunts, set up and T began calling softly as first light tried to penetrate the thick fog. After an hour with no replies, we decided to try another spot. Days Afield: November 2007
http://daysafield-dv.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Back in the stand. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I’ll be out trying again. Have a happy Thanksgiving. Friday, November 16, 2007. Looking back at the last 3 weeks. The 25 year old I saw this year was just a bit smaller, and quartering away at 12 yards. I just couldn't drop the string. He should be a good one next year. Overall, the rutting activity was disappointingly slim in Ohio this year. Thursday, November 15, 2007. Just a few dogs, how about you? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Days Afield: May 2010

Sunday, May 9, 2010. Turkey season was a bust. I shoot the same arrows from both: Easton Axis N-Fused 400's, with 125 grain Slick Trick Mag broadheads and blazer vanes. This set-up works very well for me. I hunted 4 states last year and ended up killing 6 deer, a turkey, a coyote, several groundhogs, and an assortment of other small game with them. I'm looking forward to seeing what this year brings. Sunday, May 2, 2010. New Jersey's Turkey season: A Week Ups and Downs. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Here i...

Thursday, July 3, 2008. Country. But it was. This is something that only happens “over there” I thought. Not any longer. Be another one of those days, and maybe more than one. We’ve all most certainly heard the saying "Freedom Isn’t Free", but how many of us actually think about it? Do we think that freedom. 8220;wasn’t”. Free, meaning that. 8220;hey, they already fought for our freedom and won, God bless those patriots from 1776”. Have a great Independence Day holiday. July 3, 2008 at 1:39 PM. The timin...

Sunday, May 2, 2010. Here is a little video of some turkey hunting from years past. It was a turkey season primer I put up on YouTube. A little corny, but I had fun doing it. A" week was a bust for me this year, but it hasn't always been that way. Hopefully, by the end of the turkey season this year, I'll have some new video to put up. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Time for a garden update, and all I can say is WOW! Here is my garden project this year. Of what I found.some has already been given away and cooked for dinner. I am about to run into some serious problems though.the green beans have been only sparodic so far, but they are about to come on in full force. This is a picture of just one plant, and I have 4 rows of plants like this. I will be picking two, 5 gallon buckets of beans every three days by the end of the week. I enjoyed rea...

NYS DEC Misses the Mark with New Regulations. August 7, 2015. No Comments ↓. New changes are heading our way for the 2015 deer season in New York. For those of us hunting in Westchester County and a few other WMUs that have historically had an overpopulation of deer we now have a newly created 2-week long antlerless only season – the only problem is that it’s the first 2-weeks of bow season. Because those first 2-weeks also happen to be the last few days you can catch a buck on its summer pattern. Tagged...
