Newer posts →. I was volunteering at Sara D. Roosevelt park today with New York Cares and the New York City Park and Recreation. The weather was great and we worked hard raking leaves along the edge of the fence. As you can see in the pictures there is still some snow on the ground. The weather has been quite cold the last few weeks but gave volunteers a break this Saturday morning. It felt great to get outside and work up a sweat! New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. On the crisp winter aft...

Tuesday, May 05, 2015. Watching the TenEyk Bald Eagle Nest with Quicksilver the Smoke Alarm. The Bald Eagle Nest. Is in the oak tree nominally in the center. Of the photograph. The nest is up right in the crown of the tree. This is as close as I'm allowed as it is private land. We may be able to see what is going on but my apologies it isn't going to be exactly crisp. Eaglet, left, stands up. Is Mom feeding another eaglet or is she tearing food, or eating herself? No Eaglets visible Mom stares center nest.

Coming in for a landing. Octavia checks on everyone. Then it is lunch for all. Dad does a fly by. Then back to business. Pale Male does a fly-over of the Bench. Friday, June 19, 2015. Pale Male Plays Decoy, Little Rules the Roost, and Large Is Convinced She is Dying of Starvation. When last we left Pale Male he had just prepared a meal for the fledglings or possibly for Little the eyass still left on the nest in Central Park while being attacked by a Northern Mockingbird pair, Mimus polyglottos. So far Pale Male just keeps his eyes averted and leans away from the Mockingbird. Pale Male just keeps sitting there. See the Mockingbird to the left of the aurette?

Palemaleirregulars: What Insect Is This?
http://palemaleirregulars.blogspot.com/2015/08/what-insect-is-this.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. What Insect Is This? First, an explanation. When I find various creatures in my yard, tree frogs and the like, and the little girls next door are outside, I call them to come and see whatever wonder I have discovered. The girls had discovered a nest of the above white insects. Though fascinated by all creatures and any living thing for that matter, I've never delved very far into the bijillion forms of insects. Does anyone know what these insects are? Shoot me an email. View my ...
