Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Target And MTA Unveil First Full Length Subway Train Wrapped In Advertising. Yesterday morning, the 6 train become the first ever full length train. Completely wrapped in advertising to run on the New York City subway system. The cartoonish and unexpected ad wrapped train, in support of a new Target opening in East Harlem this July. Will run for six weeks, generating $250,000 in revenue for the MTA. See a full set of photos here. And Google both wrapped the Times Square shuttle.

Park Odyssey: Governor's Island: Nolan Park

http://parkodyssey.blogspot.com/2015/08/governors-island-nolan-park.html

Visiting the New York City parks. Every last one of them. Friday, August 14, 2015. Governor's Island: Nolan Park. After my first visit to Governor's Island. Five years ago, I worried that all the development being planned might ruin it. I liked the charm of its "unfinished, half-ghost-town state.". I'm beginning my informal Governors Island parks survey at Nolan Park. Because a concert here by the Imani Winds. Was the immediate excuse for our most recent excursion to the island. We visited other parts of...

Park Odyssey: Septuagesimo Uno – NYC's Smallest Park?

http://parkodyssey.blogspot.com/2014/01/septuagesimo-uno-nycs-smallest-park.html

Visiting the New York City parks. Every last one of them. Monday, January 13, 2014. Septuagesimo Uno – NYC's Smallest Park? Has something of the feel of a medieval alley (and something of the moldy smell too). According to the Parks Department website. Originally and boringly known as "71st Street Plot," the park certainly deserved a name change. Just as its giant cousin a few blocks away is splashed with banners seeking contributions to the Central Park Conservancy. If you have a little extra time and y...

Park Odyssey: Franz Sigel Park

http://parkodyssey.blogspot.com/2015/06/franz-sigel-park.html

Visiting the New York City parks. Every last one of them. Monday, June 1, 2015. Another park that's an easy walk from Yankee Stadium in The Bronx is Franz Sigel Park. The rockiest and most forested of the area's green spaces (at least those you can enter without sneaking or blasting your way in). To get there I started at Joyce Kilmer Park. And the Bronx Supreme Court at 161st Street, and walked down Walton Avenue, which, like Broadway in Manhattan, was once an Indian path. Franz Sigel Park's modest heig...

I Walk Faster Than You: Justification to Rename This Blog "We Walk Faster Than You"

http://iwalkfasterthanyou.blogspot.com/2012/01/justification-to-rename-this-blog-we.html

I WALK FASTER THAN YOU: A guide to commuting/using public transportation in New York City. Justification to Rename This Blog "We Walk Faster Than You". It's been awhile since I posted. Please allow me to recap what's been going on in my absence:. That's pretty much it. One might say, "Holy shit, Dude! Or, "How's married life? Or even, "Pffft. Ain't no excuse to not keep bloggin'." To which I would say, "Thanks! The same, except now I have in-laws", and "You're right", respectively. Jul 8, 2012, 3:26:00 PM.

ANDREA WRITES AND BLOGS. Mostly concerning Amherst, UMass Amherst, Northampton and Boston. Personal and other interest pieces for some spice. This was in yesterday's Daily Hampshire Gazette. The Felice Brothers recall the folk era of the '60s, with their floppy hats, worn leather shoes and button-down collar shirts. And it isn't just their appearance. Certainly, geography may have had something to do with the brothers' gravitation to folk music. The group first gained exposure when they moved to Brooklyn...
