Current State guidelines on sediment basin design specify that only small rainfall events need to be treated to reduce sediment loads, with larger events being allowed to exit without normal levels of treatment. Whilst these larger flows do receive some treatment as they pass through standard basins; any such treatment is believed to be minimal.

Acid Sulphate Soil training course. ASS are hazardous soils typically found in low lying coastal environments. When disturbed, they can release harmful quantities of sulphuric acid and metals, degrading the natural and built environment. While understanding, managing and assessing ASS can be a complex task, the training provided Council staff with valuable foundational knowledge and skills to assist them in their daily work activities. Jon received very positive feedback from Council on the training.
