http://obsessedwithknitting.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Imagine my delight. I designed a pair of socks. My idea to make socks out of a zig. Called Wave) from the Learn to Knit Afghan book worked out. Here they are. I call them Mimus. After the excellent young adult book I listened to as I knit. The character Mimus. Is a court jester. Does that not fit the oh-so-entertaining zigs. Here is the pattern for Mimus. I figured out how you can keep the same stitch. Approximately 400 yards fingering weight yarn. Of work, knit through the ...
obsessed with knitting: slinking back
http://obsessedwithknitting.blogspot.com/2009/09/slinking-back.html
Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Bad Beverlyanne. It's been three months since I last posted. In fact, I now have to go back and read that post, because I've forgotten what it was about. Oh It was about a stupid Clapotis that I shouldn't even have made. But the post before that was about the subject of today's posting, The Rosy Pinwheel. Yes, I changed its name from Devil's Pinwheel to Rosy in honor of my granddaughter, Rosie. And here it is in long view:. Who has made some stunning pinwheels ( this. Is my...

Thursday, April 30, 2009. I've had Cookie A's long-awaited book for a couple of weeks now and have had a chance to go through it. It's called. And it's a doozy. Here is a picture of the cover. In no way does this endorsement of Cookie A. indicate an abandonment of my beloved Charlene Schurch. On the contrary, Cookie's book affirms the value of. More Sensational Knitted Socks. Another book is worth mentioning in the context of sock design. That is Vogue. Knitting The Ultimate Sock Book. Links to this post.

obsessed with knitting: socks-a-lot
http://obsessedwithknitting.blogspot.com/2009/05/socks-lot.html
Saturday, May 30, 2009. I recently finished my ninth and tenth pairs of socks. I feel like I should stop for a while, especially since I rarely wear socks in the summer. But I probably won't. I made this pair for Anne in her favorite color. I used the good ol' Schurch Double Moss stitch. Here. Is its Ravelry page. Is its Ravelry link. Another weird thing was the star toe. This toe is what the designer used, so I thought I'd try it. I noticed that some ravelry people thought that this toe was so u...Maizy...

Multi-colored Yarn Adventures: Ridiculous Rasta Hat |

About the Knitting Harpy. Knitting without patterns- A madwoman's journey. Laquo; Gentleman’s Motorcyling Scarf: Free Pattern. Multi-colored Yarn Adventures: Ridiculous Rasta Hat. November 24, 2008 by knittingharpy. One of the problem projects I mentioned last post was particularly disappointing to me, because I loved the yarn, I love berets, I was excited about my idea for the pattern, yet when all the pieces were put together… yikes. I’m calling it the Ridiculous Rasta. Well, that color’s looking...

Inquisitive Knitter: January 2008
http://inquisitiveknitter.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Notes from an amateur knitter, baker, and golfer. Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Mission possible – replicate Mom’s Half Circle Hot Pad. I was cooking the other day and reached for my most favorite hot pads (or “pot holders” to some). My mom made them for me a long time ago and they are the best hot pads ever. What makes them so special? Shape and flexibility, and of course, my mom. I can hear some of you say, why not ask your mom to crotchet some more. Or crochet them yourself? Back to one strand, the size ...

Inquisitive Knitter: More stash
http://inquisitiveknitter.blogspot.com/2008/08/more-stash.html
Notes from an amateur knitter, baker, and golfer. Monday, August 18, 2008. One of the local yarn shops in Tallahassee had a big sale last week and one of the yarns I snagged is Margarita by Plymouth Yarn. It's a 78% nylon 22% micro tactel blend (whatever that is). I was really attracked to the colors. The picture is a bit fuzzy but the colors are true. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tallahassee, North Florida, United States. View my complete profile. Inquisitive Knitter: April 2008
http://inquisitiveknitter.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Notes from an amateur knitter, baker, and golfer. Monday, April 28, 2008. I was inspired by. When she wrote in her blog about gift knitting. I decided to plan my knitting projects for Christmas gifts. First, I made a list of things I’d like to knit. Then I made a list of people that I wanted to give a gift to. And I tried to match them. I made some adjustments and created my project list. Here’s an example. From my chart I know what and how many things I want to make, but can I do it all by Christmas?

Inquisitive Knitter: March 2008
http://inquisitiveknitter.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Notes from an amateur knitter, baker, and golfer. Thursday, March 27, 2008. Not quite closing the Garden Gate. I sort of finished the Garden Gate afghan. I ran out of yarn so I stopped knitting (obviously) but the afghan is a bit too short. I took it over to. Where I bought the yarn) for a consultation with Paula. What could I do to make it bigger? I vaguely remembered that I bought all of the green yarn that Paula had. Could I add on end pieces in a contrasting color? Saturday, March 15, 2008. The patte...

Notes from an amateur knitter, baker, and golfer. Saturday, August 30, 2008. The Constant Companion is ready for action. I completed the Constant Companion felted bag from the Knitters Stash book. I learned some clever new techniques from this pattern. I am always amazed that people create this stuff. The loop and button closure was made in-line in the same manner. Here’s a picture before felting. The “button” is a length of I-cord tied in a knot. Saturday, August 23, 2008. Add a binding to your books.

Inquisitive Knitter: October update
http://inquisitiveknitter.blogspot.com/2008/10/october-update.html
Notes from an amateur knitter, baker, and golfer. Monday, October 20, 2008. Wow - I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted. I have been knitting some but mostly my time has been absorbed by work, travel, and minor health issues. I did knit a cute little baby kimono for a work friend who is having her first baby. The pattern was from the Mason-Dixon book. I forgot to take a picture before I gifted it. You'll have to take my word for it that it was adorable. March 17, 2009 at 12:59 PM.
