公募美術団体 旺玄会は公募展 旺玄展 への出品者を募集しております。 大正13年3月、当時帝展の中心画家であった、牧野虎雄、高間惣七、熊岡美彦等が槐樹社 かいじゅしゃ を結成、機関誌 美術新論 を発行する他、毎年公募展を開催、フォーブや日本独自の方式などを加え、外光派中心の帝展よりも自由で幅広い画風を通じて、当時の画壇に大きな影響を与えた。 昭和7年 1932 槐樹社の解散後、岩井弥一郎、上野山清貢、小林喜代吉、鈴木金平等、旧槐樹社同人が発起人となり、牧野虎雄を盟主とし、その盟友、門下生を結集して 旺玄社 を組織、昭和8年3月、第1回展を東京府美術館で開催した。 昭和20年8月に終戦を迎え、 旺玄社 の同人が相寄り、 旺玄会 と改称して再出発する事とし、昭和22年1月、戦後初めての展覧会を東京都美術館に於いて開催した。 再開に当たっての理念として、 本会は、芸術の持つ一義性に徹し、その傾向 会派を問わず、低調なる職業主義を排し、各自の自由な制作態度 を尊重する姿勢を確認しており、こうした考え方は、今日も変わりなく継承されている。
