Ok facebooker pals and gals out there, mr montana miller. Is in need of some desperate help in the form of vote to get him into the pisgah mountain race for free. rumor is, his cat is very upset at the closeness of the race - and he has personally promised me a couple of worn out chains and an old saddle if he wins. Both those last facts may not actually be facts, but he does ride a single speed pretty fast, so get yer vote in for a single speed freak. you can get your vote in at facebook HERE! I chased ...

Two 2's and OH states mention in CX mag. This past weekend was the latest of NEO cross race series, a double weekend hosted by Brett Davis. This was the "mandatory" Halloween costume day - show up without a costume and you get a 30 minute penalty. Needless to say, everybody came in some sort of costume. I opted for the Green Lantern. Got there early and decided to take a spin around the course and check it out - like I have done every year for the past 5 years. I slowed and made it, others did not. With ...

Friday Mohawk day at the Ernesto casa. Originally uploaded by solo goat. Ahhh Busy, busy, busy. Update from the Ernesto casa is that I have been super busy with work, riding, bike and computer repair. Wish I could sleep some more. Up first on the plate this year will be a trip out west to warmer temps to the 24 Hours of Old Pueblo where I will be teaming up again with fellow Pivot backed rider Brian Bennet and racing duo. Over the road, single/double track section moderate climb where you can pass a lot ...

SoloGoat Blog: 4th at Kirtland Park
http://sologoat.blogspot.com/2011/11/4th-at-kirtland-park.html
4th at Kirtland Park. Last battle in Cleveland for the cross season would be a classic battle again with Paul, John and Steve. Course was the typical layout for the venue, with a few new twists added by incorporating a jungle gym and a different set of stairs. Classic. Gun goes off and I somehow manage the lead position going into the first corner. Through a few more twists and turns, I was still at the front but I wanted to get out of the front as I could see things had immediately got strung out. Would...

2008 cohutta 100 - 11. Originally uploaded by solo goat. Soon to be heading southward for the first stop on the NUE series, Cohutta. Lots of fire roads, some sneaky single track to break things up - and watch out for that last section after the last feed area. Bike is all setup, new magura's just arrived yesterday so no chance for them this race. Originally uploaded by Robert Sroka. Few laps later, i jumped hard and got a little group going with 3 others - we would eventually gain 2 more riders (one from...

Originally uploaded by solo goat. The Michaux Mash 4 hour in my home state of beautiful PA. Field is huge and stacked, lap is short at 6 miles and going to be hectic. Temps are going to be at a high of 42. At 4 hours, i think there should of been a "1" or "2" in front of the "4", but that's just me. Either way, looking forward to racing in my home state and bumping elbows with some friends. It's racing season - pedal hard. 2011 Anglers Ridge (606). Originally uploaded by solo goat. Going from cold temps ...

SoloGoat Blog: 3 days in Cinci
http://sologoat.blogspot.com/2011/11/3-days-in-cinci.html
3 days in Cinci. Here it is - better late then never, still trying to finish up some bike work and figure out if I want to glue up some tubulars or not. As usual, I was running late getting over to Shawn's place. Running an hour late, we made our way south towards Cincinnati. Soon we would run into traffic several times, putting us even later the expected. Gun goes off and I have a decent start, sitting mid pack. Soon, we are going by the pit. Another rider in front of me suddenly slows and swings fa...
