The Christmas Letter {2011}. Merry Christmas, Everyone! Click on the image below to see the full-size image of our 2011 {virtual} Holiday Letter:. May your days be merry. In November, our beloved 1998-Chrysler-300-Car-of-the-Year-Forest-Green-Monster decided to give out on us. Gone. Kaput. During a leisurely drive around Dallas, the engine started smoking before completely dying, leaving us car-less for a few weeks. After a long and exaughsting search, we found a new car, and we love it! Love, Love, LOVE!

nothing is greater: All Are Called

Wednesday, September 26, 2012. 8220;Not one or the other, but all.”. The Lord interrupted my thoughts one morning with this single phrase, and it churned through my mind for over a week after that. Over and over I heard it stir about, picking up lost and lingering thoughts as it made its way around again. It wove a thread through memories and unfinished notions from prior months that never fully vanished, piecing them together to form their unseen purpose. It starts with Haiti. Ushers in the grey. These ...

nothing is greater: July 2012
http://nothingisgreater.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 16, 2012. Friends, I have the most wonderful news, and it comes with a mouthful of (probably disjointed) thoughts. If you haven't pressed play above, press it now. Listen to the earnest and sweet prayer of hunger for the the Lord. I need to remember I'm part of His target mission, too - I'm a recipient, too. Not just a minister or messenger of the mission. I'm not just resting in order to recharge. I'm resting so He can work in me in ways that do not happen when I'm busy" (excerp...The past ...

Thursday, September 15, 2011. A year and a half ago I stood before a mirror, but my perception of the girl staring back at me was veiled. She was mature and capable and loved. Life was in her hands. She knew who she was. She knew what she wanted. And she could have it. All of it. And then came the stone. But two things remain. Two: the pieces. This is the beautiful part (the part that makes this depressing story worth reading). The mirror, though broken, is not gone. In the midst of the mess ...I can swe...

nothing is greater: November 2012

Wednesday, November 7, 2012. On Mom Butts and Singing Praise. While many of my peers are thriving twenty-somethings, fresh out of college with great jobs in cities they love, there are a separate handful of us who have found this transition to be an eerie reflection of adolescence. Nothing seems to fit. Literally and figuratively. I’m the awkward new girl alone at the lunch table, wearing jeans that give me a mom butt and eating last night’s leftovers. Not really, but it’s sure how I feel. Play On ♫.

nothing is greater: Things I'm learning ... that you probably already knew, part 2

Friday, September 21, 2012. Things I'm learning . that you probably already knew, part 2. God's promises are true. Yes If we can hope in anything it is in the Word of God. Jesus, the Word made flesh, is our hope and portion forever. God is relentlessly faithful and good. I sat convicted, last week, as I heard these words:. Too many of our days are filled with low or no expectations of who and what Jesus can be. Those who sow with tears. Will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping,.

nothing is greater: December 2012
http://nothingisgreater.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 10, 2012. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. I often wonder if the images of the life I imagine, so vibrant and clear, will only ever be actualized with ink on the pages of my journal. I never thought something so beautiful could usher in so much angst. My vagabond heart drifts from one dream to the next, and I am ready to find rest where I am. When your dreams are too big to bear, be faithful where you are. His strength and for. Play On ♫.

nothing is greater: June 2011

Sunday, June 12, 2011. The same old song. Windows down. The gentle breeze of a warm summer night. Setting sun… And standstill traffic. I believe the signs said, “Expect delays. Indefinite amount of time until end of work zone”. Good thing I had my iPod. If anyone heading north on I-35 hadn’t heard of or experienced Passion. They have now. What an unexpected and sweet moment with my King. In quietness and trust is. Strength” {Isaiah 30:15}. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). More than the sparrows.
