...................: goodbye for 18 months :)
http://jennacarson.blogspot.com/2012/01/see-you-in-18-months.html
Sunday, February 5, 2012. Goodbye for 18 months :). September 2011, opening my mission call with Elise, Kaitlin and Ariel (filming) and also my family on speaker-phone :). I was 13 at the time, and had just received a special priesthood blessing. As I received the blessing, I felt strong impressions about spreading the good news- the gospel of Christ! Felt so strongly about this mission. It's amazing to me that the time is already here! Thank you to those who have taught me so much about this- you contin...

The Dialogue: March 2010
http://sabrinasdialogue.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 31, 2010. When I was younger, I never thought to question the status quo. Things that were "normal" were that way because they should be. I took them for granted. Now that I am older, I find myself looking at these "normal" things in a different light. I analyze them and make my own judgments about them. One of these "normal" things is family- both marriage and having children. Look at the institution of marriage! Anxiously concerned for their well-being! Sunday, March 14, 2010. Last wee...

Monday, November 15, 2010. R-E-S-P-E-C-T: find out what it means to me. I've been pondering about respect for YEARS! Here are things my parents do that I think contributes to the high-respect level in my family:. 1 They show respect for each other at all times (literally, I don't think I have ever seen them disrespect each other). 4 They each express appreciation for the other to us, when the other one isn't there. I can't count the times that Mom, when Dad wasn't there, told us how much she loves Da...

Saturday, May 19, 2012. Sunday, May 13, 2012. The concept of love is of utmost importance. It is the most important human feeling and motivating power. It defines a worthwhile life. Love is the basis of the first and second great commandments. We all want to love and be loved. Yet, despite knowing its importance, we struggle to know what it is. Is the love that I feel for a boy different than the love I feel for my mom? Is love different when it is had in different relationships? So what is love? On a ba...

Sunday, March 4, 2012. I've been thinking a lot about the concept of living deliberately. It's a phrase that a friend of mine used a few years ago, and I've adopted it as part of my general philosophy of life. I believe in living on purpose! Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "The unexamined life is not worth living.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Please read and comment! A place to philosophize. Find out what I believe. Watermark template. The Dialogue: December 2009

Wednesday, December 9, 2009. The Curiosity of Expectations. I’ve been pondering on the role and influence of expectations in relationships for the past few weeks. It seems like expectations can have both positive and negative effects. For example, the highest predictor of good teenage behavior is parental expectations. But expectations can also cause a lot of harm. Knowing of someone’s expectations of you can make you feel pressure and strain the relationship. Are all high and realistic expectations good?

The Dialogue: September 2012

Sunday, September 9, 2012. We began discussing how to just stay at the top of the cycle- being righteous and being blessed by God. In my personal study this afternoon I thought more about the subject. What if the righteousness cycle went like this? Being righteous- continually being stirred up in remembrance- humbling ourselves- repentance. Then it loops around in a cycle. Once humble, we can approach God and ask for His grace. We can repent of our sins and ask for increased virtue.

Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Each Life That Touches Ours For Good. Two and a half weeks ago, I returned to BYU. Nearly all of my friends had graduated and/or married or have yet to return from their missions, so I've had to start fresh in the friend department. And I've been amazed at the quality of people that I've found here. It reminds me of a certain phrase from a well-known poem. It says:. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking. So that other people won't feel insecure around you. .

Thursday, November 26, 2009. The Importance of Remaining Vulnerable. Several weeks ago in sacrament meeting, the speaker said, "You need to choose to remain vulnerable. Don't let trials harden you." I don't even remember the context in which it was spoken, but those words have stayed with me, and I've pondered them ever since. In my pondering I have found that the decision to remain vulnerable is essential to successful living. Will you suffer a crushing defeat? One of my favorite country singers, Garth ...
