Jane Latta: I'm not a plotter
http://janelatta.blogspot.com/2012/11/im-not-plotter.html
Sunday, November 18, 2012. I'm not a plotter. It took three attempts, but I think I may have finally found my way into this story. I only have one page (388 words) but I wrote about 1200 words to get there. Yeesh! I feel like I'm getting back on a bicycle after not having ridden in far too long. Today, I remembered how to work the pedals and get moving. I'm enjoying the ride and taking in the scenery. Pretty soon, though, I'll have to figure out how to steer. Jane Latta: Building blocks
http://janelatta.blogspot.com/2012/11/building-blocks.html
Saturday, November 24, 2012. I may not have a lot of pretty words down on the page, but I've been writing bits and pieces of this new story. I'm not far enough into the story to get a feel for the depth, but I've hit a few scenes that tell me a lot about the characters and their journey. Oh yeah: did I mention the fantasy element? Yes indeed, I said fantasy. Light, urban fantasy, I suppose. There's a ghost in my story. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Pacific Northwest, Washington, United States.

Tales of Yonaguni: November 2011
http://yonagunitales.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 7, 2011. Zamami Island, about two hours west of Naha (Okinawa) by fast ferry, is in the Kerama island group. Among the island's many charms is the fact that it does not host the deadly. Snakes found on Okinawa proper. Yonaguni is also. An Ancient Earthquake (Zamami Island). The two dark stripes and their discontinuities tell of earthquakes that happened in ancient days. The larger right/left discrepancy is close to one foot. The one above that is a few inches. Tales of Yonaguni: May 2011
http://yonagunitales.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 21, 2011. What's the difference between what happened in Japan's Tohoku and what happened in Yonaguni eons ago? The simple answer is, in Tohoku, the stories were not lost. Everything was recorded in words and pictures. There were witnesses who survived. Suppose there were witnesses who survived the Yonaguni disaster? Would the symbols and marks on stone tablets now preserved in the prefectural museum in Naha, Okinawa, be their stories? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Scene from Shuri Castle.

Tales of Yonaguni: March 2013

Monday, March 11, 2013. Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Http:/ www.thewesterlysun.com/news/land-reclaimed-by-nature-yields-its-historic-artifacts/article 6e5d94f4-84dd-11e2-aeb3-001a4bcf887a.html The above link is to an artifact left by Native Americans in Rhode Island, USA. There is a similar (probable) artifact etched into a cliff on Yonaguni, an island in Okinawa. The Native American one looks like a cougar in profile; the Yonaguni one looks like an outline of a sea eagle. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
