The Miller and Hayes families came to this area about 1795, when they were merely squatters on the land. Thomas Miller, Jr., was born to Thomas Miller, Sr. and Priscilla (Hayes) Miller on 8/4/1795. Thomas Miller, Jr. married Abigail Bush on 8/2/1814. They had 8 children, with one dying in infancy. Thomas Miller, Jr., and Abigail (Bush) Miller built the stone house on the property here first in 1830. As many as 10 people lived in it!
