http://carpenteringelmerfud.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Carpentering for the Carpenter. Thursday, March 24, 2005. Rev Jack Hockney is welcoming me as a newly Ordained Minister with the Assciated Gospel Church of Canada. (Similar to I.F.C.A. in the U.S.) I was ordained in Uranium City Evangelical Church on January 28, 1979. Both my parents and Colleen's parents were there for the event. It was a blessed time. Dad Smith taught Jon (who was 6 months old) to eat table food. He never ate baby food again! What about my Ordination? We serve a living Saviour. That's ...

Carpentering for the Carpenter: Minor Setback
http://carpenteringelmerfud.blogspot.com/2011/02/minor-setback.html
Carpentering for the Carpenter. Wednesday, February 02, 2011. After a month of waiting I finally got back to the family farm. I spent the past three days out there getting dirty and greasy. I was working on the old tractor I am in the process of restoring. The first task has been to get the engine running. On Monday, Bill (my brother) helped me set the repaired cylinder head onto the engine. Probably the most important task is torquing down the head bolts. This is what 150 foot/pounds looks like! In I mu...

Jonny wasn't very hungry. When his stomach erupted we found out why. But we carried on with our planned evening. We took the boys to Toy Story 3. We all loved it. And no problems with Jonny. Carpentering for the Carpenter: Defibulation
http://carpenteringelmerfud.blogspot.com/2010/12/defibulation.html
Carpentering for the Carpenter. Wednesday, December 15, 2010. The restoration process is taking its time! Today I finally was successful at unseizing the tractor's engine. The process:. Soak cylinders with diesel fuel (about two gallons). Let soak for about two months. Try loosing the seized engine by rocking the tractor back and forth. Remove head and replace diesel fuel with rubbing alcohol. Loosen the seized piston by hitting it with a fire log the right size and a big hammer. View my complete profile.

My recomendation: get the Gaither Vocal Band next year! Back on the practical side of the weekend. I spent two nights in a Holiday Inn room with 3 young guys. Friday night allowed for five hours sleep. Saturday night was (a little) better and I got about six. I thought the kids would be dead on the ride home, but they wern't! Sunday, May 22, 2005.
