http://svtwin.blogspot.com/2009/06/oil-change.html
Motorcycle Junkie - SV650 rider. Perspectives of a motorcycle enthusiast. Friday, June 12, 2009. Everyone and their dog has an opinion about which is the best brand of oil to use in their car, motorcycle, or sewing machine. Like everyone else, I've got my opinion, too. And, while we're on the topic of oil, is it worth spending the extra cash for synthetic oil? Or is good old dino oil good enough? This is good for motorcycles. This is good for cars. Yes, the oil inside the bottle. Doing an oil and filter ...

http://svtwin.blogspot.com/2009/05/can-you-hear-me-now-moron.html
Motorcycle Junkie - SV650 rider. Perspectives of a motorcycle enthusiast. Sunday, May 17, 2009. Can you hear me now? I've always been frustrated with my bike's lethargic and whimpy sounding factory horn. With people cutting me off, pulling out in front of me, failing to look before merging or moving into my lane - I beep my silly girl's horn at them and no one even notices. Not any more. How does it sound? Well, with the rider seat and rear seat cowl back in place, it's still. Subscribe to this blog.

http://svtwin.blogspot.com/2009/02/super-deal-on-new-tires-ruined-by-ups.html
Motorcycle Junkie - SV650 rider. Perspectives of a motorcycle enthusiast. Friday, February 27, 2009. Super deal on new tires - ruined by UPS. In any case, while clickin' around on eBay last week, I happened to stumble upon a guy in Wisconsin selling brand new Road Attacks for $50. WTF? For only $35 each! Holy shit, Batman, that's $70 for a matching pair. He got me a shipping quote from UPS: $55 from Wisconsin to Ottawa. A little steep for shipping, but it's still a terrific bargain. It makes no sense.

Motorcycle Junkie - SV650 rider: Rear suspension upgrade
http://svtwin.blogspot.com/2009/04/rear-suspension-upgrade.html
Motorcycle Junkie - SV650 rider. Perspectives of a motorcycle enthusiast. Sunday, April 19, 2009. It's widely known that the SV. 650's stock suspension has 3 drawbacks:. 1) the components are budget pieces. Is adjustable (no compression or rebound damping). 3) too soft for anyone over 150 lbs. I'd been reading about all of the rear shock swaps for the SV. 650 People inevitably replace the crappy OEM. Unit with something that offers adjustability. R models will bolt right into the SV. 10 shock, but sprung...

http://svtwin.blogspot.com/2009/06/intiminators-update.html
Motorcycle Junkie - SV650 rider. Perspectives of a motorcycle enthusiast. Friday, June 5, 2009. So I've been riding with these Intiminators. Installed in my front forks for 2 weeks now. I've ridden approximately 1,000 Km and I'm very pleased to report that they seem to be well worth the $150 (that was special introductory price, 50% off). They're made by a relatively new company, called Ricor Racing Shocks. And I suspect their going steal away many of Race Tech's. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Motorcycle Junkie - SV650 rider: Tire update
http://svtwin.blogspot.com/2009/06/tire-update.html
Motorcycle Junkie - SV650 rider. Perspectives of a motorcycle enthusiast. Monday, June 8, 2009. I also got an unexpected opportunity to try the new Contis in the rain. The Dunlops weren't bad when things got wet, but they weren't great. With the new tires, I was able to lift the front tire off the ground, and I even gave the bike a very generous amount of throttle coming out of a few turns. They didn't seem to mind the we surface at all. Two thunbs up! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Five on the Fly.

Considered the Kawi KLR650, but they're too ugly. Here's a sneak peek:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
