Six Saturdays and a Sunday. Work's over, now it's time to play! How Did This Turn Into Such A Project? July 27, 2015. So we finally finished painting the garage floor Sunday. What started out 2 weeks ago as a tidy up and cleaning of the floor turned into a 14 day job that included stripping the previous 3 coatings off the floor, painting the walls, purchasing and installing new storage racks and finally putting a new coating on the floor. Over the past 2 weeks we’ve gone from this:. I made a mistake and ...

Wiebe's Wanderings: Lower Antelope Canyon
http://wiebeswanderings.blogspot.com/2015/04/lower-antelope-canyon.html
Gold Canyon, Az. New Years Day 2015, Gold Canyon, AZ. Sunday, April 5, 2015. Saturday morning I collected all my gear and headed out to Ken's Tours and my Photographers Tour of the Lower Antelope Canyon. Felt a bit strange to be leaving Lori behind but the rules for the Photographers tour were that each person had to have their own DSLR and Tripod. The entrance to the canyon and below the some of the stairs we had to navigate to get down the 30-40 feet to the canyon floor. The one advantage the Lower can...

Gold Canyon, Az. New Years Day 2015, Gold Canyon, AZ. Friday, June 5, 2015. I haven't posted since we got home from Snowbird 1. We have settled into our normal routines although knowing that we plan to head off for Snowbird 2 in another 5 months does bring a little more urgency to some of those household projects. Now for the reason for my post. I was. Nest contained 9 large eggs, all perfectly arranged awaiting the return of Mrs Mallard to provide them with the warmth they will need to hatch. A couple y...

Wiebe's Wanderings: Moonlight Walk
http://wiebeswanderings.blogspot.com/2015/02/moonlight-walk.html
Gold Canyon, Az. New Years Day 2015, Gold Canyon, AZ. Sunday, February 8, 2015. Make sure you double click on the 1st picture to get in full size so you can really see the difference. Then scroll through the pics. It didn't take long for the moon to rise above the roof line. Everybody snapping shots and then it was all done. All that waiting for, perhaps 10 minutes of picture taking. I didn't notice the shooting star till I got home and downloaded the pictures to the computer. Dumb luck, I'll take it.

Wiebe's Wanderings: Dorothy AWOL
http://wiebeswanderings.blogspot.com/2015/06/dorothy-awol.html
Gold Canyon, Az. New Years Day 2015, Gold Canyon, AZ. Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Has anyone seen my duck. The last time she was seen was Monday afternoon, sitting on her nest at the base of one of the willows in my yard. We were anxiously awaiting the arrival of her brood. Here is a picture of what she will look like with 8 ducklings in tow. Lots of bits of egg shells plus the one below that was almost intact with just the top broken open. Guess I can now cut the grass on that side of the yard. Travel tem...

Across Canada | Six Saturdays and a Sunday

Six Saturdays and a Sunday. Work's over, now it's time to play! For whatever reason, inserting pictures is easier with this critter on top, so get used to the duck. Just a spot we saw on our way back from the Acadian Heritage Center. Our first glimpse of the Gulf of St Lawrence from an observation tower on Ile D'Orleans. You can see 70km from this vantage point. The view from the top of Montmorency Falls. That's the bridge to Ile D'Orleans with the island in the background. Place Jacques Cartier. Thi...

Six Saturdays and a Sunday. Work's over, now it's time to play! I’ve finally got around to updating this info, and it’s current as of the Fall of 2013. We said at the time we were embarking on a time of travel and discovery. I know, sounds cheesy, but we’re just planning on seeing as much as we can and doing as much as we like as quickly as possible. Life is short, and we’re going to enjoy it as much as we possibly can. Opportunities available to us in that area. 2 responses to “ About us. I’m curi...

Wiebe's Wanderings: December 2014
http://wiebeswanderings.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Gold Canyon, Az. New Years Day 2015, Gold Canyon, AZ. Thursday, December 25, 2014. I have included a few Christmas themed pictures which show that while there is no snow on the ground we still have Christmas in our hearts. We brought our Santa hats on our hike on. Was quite comical trying to find a spot for us all to pose and set up my tripod and camera all the while staying clear of those Jumping Cholla's. Do you see Mickey Mouse. We added a Santa Hat to provide some Christmas atmosphere. When we got ba...
