Merriwether's Journal: Drag Racing Spring Creek
http://intotheborderlands.blogspot.com/2012/05/drag-racing-spring-creek.html
Follow me on Twitter. Monday, May 28, 2012. Drag Racing Spring Creek. It's been almost two years since I had Firefly. In the water. After a hard week (plus one easy but LOUD night) I finally decided enough was enough and put Firefly back in the water. Approximately 4" of water. The flow rate was only 59 cfs. But I was hoping that was enough to paddle in. It wasn't, except in very rare occasions. Basically, I'd have to rate this as my WORTST ADVENTURE EVER! Before 4:30pm otherwise I'd have to carry Firefly.

Follow me on Twitter. Sunday, January 15, 2012. An Easy Day in McKinney Roughs. Clark and I have a goal of one awesome adventure per month in 2012 and with that requirement we drove a few hours northwest of Houston to McKinney Roughs Nature Park. This park is part of the little-known, publicly-accessible wildernesses. Of the Lower Colorado River Authority. Visitor's center, classrooms, and dorms. Inside the visitor's center were the usual displays of lizards, snakes, fish and bones. Clark on a bluff.

Follow me on Twitter. Sunday, August 28, 2011. A small grain of sand am I. And Misseswether, Miniwether, and Mambowether are the clam trying to turn me into a pearl. The last two weekends I've had an amazingly large amount of culture. Shoved down my throat. This weekend was opera, ballet, live theater, and the Houston symphony and I must say that NONE of Houston's world-famous theaters. So how did we cram so much culture into one day? It was time one again for the Theater District's Open House. Miniwethe...

Follow me on Twitter. Saturday, June 09, 2012. The Mechanics of Being Popular. You probably can't read my badge but it is labelled "SPEAKER". Yep, I was invited once again. To speak at Popular Mechanics Home Safety Show. On my experiences preparing my neighbors for hurricane's Rita and Ike. It had doubled in size this year and also spread to New Orleans. However, I only spoke at the Houston show. This year the biggest-name speaker was Mykel Hawke. Misseswether on a boat! A long day finally over. The Last...

Sometime years ago video switched from blue screens to green screens. I don't know why (I could google it but, meh). Me, and my Houston Arboretum contact. Links to this post. Merriwether's Journal: February 2012
http://intotheborderlands.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Follow me on Twitter. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Hail and good tidings! Even with a time machine. I've been too mondo-busy to write up my latest adventures, experiments, and creations. However, said time machine did take us to too wonderful a place to not record. Sherwood Forest in the time of Robin Hood. For instance, a fox. The Wethergirls love faire rides, but decided to just do the Big Swing. And the Red Maze. They are in there somewhere. Strewn along the trails were tons of glass "fairy stones" (gl...

Merriwether's Journal: Popular.
http://intotheborderlands.blogspot.com/2011/06/popular.html
Follow me on Twitter. Sunday, June 05, 2011. Are you there readers, it's me, Merriwether. Sorry for such a drop in posting, I've been super-busy. Demand for my foraging classes have gone through the roof. That's incredibly fantastic, but it's reached the point where they've begun getting in the way of everything else. I ended up missing a daddy-daughter dance. Because they picked a date I'd already agreed to teach on. Miniwether was upset for days. Just like church, no one wanted to sit in the front row!

Though if everything goes well we'll be growing fish and crabs instead of pigs. Future site of rainwater catchment and aquaponics systems. Step 1: tear down the interfering structure. Step 2: screw doing it by hand, hit it with the tractor! Step 3: move tanks into position. Each holds 1500 gallons. So now on to our aquaponics.

Follow me on Twitter. Saturday, May 26, 2012. IPhones destroyed the mosh pit. Long time, no see. Sorry about that, I've been insanely busy. Luckily a friend saved me from this life of labor in one of the best ways possible: RAMMSTEIN. Yeah, the peaceful rhythms of the natural world being calm, but sometimes I need flamethrower-wielding German psychopaths rocking out in a post-apocalyptic industrial wasteland. Yes, the concert was in German. It didn't really matter. Of course I had to wear my Zombie Squad.
