Maxillary Osteotomy (Top Jaw) Surgery. Wednesday, 22 December 2010. 5 Days Post Op. There is so much to say. overall the op went well and it wasn't as bad as expected. Was in hospital for a day and night, the only thing that was bad were the irritating other patients, seeing as I didn't have much patience. The operation itself feels like a click of the fingers, so most of my worries were over when I woke up, a sudden relief. 21 April 2011 at 13:53. I couldn't wait to get my braces off, I can't remember exactly how long it was after my op but it was much longer than I wanted! I was expecting something like 6 weeks but it was more like 5 months! Maxillary Osteotomy (Top Jaw) Surgery. Friday, 12 November 2010. Pre-Op (1 month prior to operation). I'm having my top jaw moved forward roughly 6mm, this involves cutting the bone above the top teeth just below the nose - all from inside the mouth, no visible scars. Maxillary Osteotomy (Top Jaw) Surgery. Thursday, 2 December 2010. Just over a week till Surgery. It's surprisingly come round really quick which I'm glad about. Looking forward to it being done! Things I'm not looking forward to. In no particular order). The chance that I might be sick after my op and not being able to too easily as my teeth will be shut together (but I hear there is such thing as an anti-sickness drug so hopefully I'll have that). Being hungry and not being able to eat much.
