Ollie and Fleur Vintage. Skiing – a secret treasure…. A great-to-be-alive sort of day. February 23, 2014. It never occurred to me before that these perfect Macarons from LeNotre mirror the colours of the buildings exactly. It was a fabulous day off today, doing what the French do very best…a long lazy simple lunch, tomatoes and mozzarella, fresh basil and plenty of olive oil, and finished with a marvellous café maison, good friends, great conversation and a lot of laughter. Ollie and Fleur Vintage. Skiing – a secret treasure…. In my humble opinion- skiing doesn’t get better than this…. February 24, 2014. Auron – beautiful Auron. I’m taking a pretty big risk here that not many people will read my blog- as I really want to keep this secret. The little ski resort of Auron, a little over an hour North of Nice, is a fabulous place. The season is limited as it’s so far south, but saying that, a few times, we’ve skied in April. A great-to-be-alive sort of day. You are commenting u...

Ollie and Fleur Vintage. Skiing – a secret treasure…. Treasure Hunting in Provence. March 2, 2014. Forget Chanel and Hermès….THIS has to be my favourite shopping. It’s a brocante – an antiques place (junk really) and there are indeed treasures to be found. But you have to look hard. I set off yesterday in the old jalopy, with a couple of empty carrier bags just in case. Now if your home is state of the art this place is not for you. So please don’t read on because you’ll be very bored. If it can be paint...

Ollie and Fleur Vintage. Skiing – a secret treasure…. Skiing – a secret treasure…. I’m taking a chance here that not many people will read my blog. We stay up there in a little hotel (we live too far away to bus or drive up and back each day) –. The school holidays are busier, but often you are literally the only people on the slopes- and you feel like it is your own personal piste. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Olives – Olive trees – Olive Oil. D-day at the Moulin. The most exciting day of the harvest is upon us our olives will be taken to the mill to be pressed into oil! It’s such a magical process and such a rewarding finale to all the hard work put in over the days hard fought picking. We call the ‘Moulin’ to book a slot for our olives to be pressed. In order for them to be pressed on their own we need a minimum of 250 kg, or a. And it’s nice to know that it is your own olives going through the mill. The wei...

How many olives in a litre? | lemasdelamandier
https://lemasdelamandier.wordpress.com/2014/04/04/how-many-olives-in-a-litre
Olives – Olive trees – Olive Oil. How many olives in a litre? Remember those jam jar competitions at school how many sweets in the jar? 100, 1000, 10000? As simple an equation it is, the excitement of being able to say ever day of picking that you picked the equivalent of 4 litres or 200 ml gets palpable🙂 Scales come out, and we take several samples of 10-20 olives and work out the per gram weight of an olive! Based on these approximations we come up with some fun figures:. 1 olive = 0.68 grams. On Rise...

Martin's French Blog. Life in the French countryside. Posted by Martin Pooley. In Just a thought. Asymp; 3 Comments. A good friend of mine in California who used to be a senior flight attendant with a charter airline and who is familiar with my career in aviation, a career that included 20 years as a Loadmaster with an American cargo airline where I had a close-up view of cockpit dynamics, asked me the other day what is it that I thought could drive a pilot to commit suicide and take all on board with him.
