Growing Up as a Confused Catholic. Your Dog on the Street. Take every opportunity to introduce your dog to people on the street. If for any reason, your dog does snap at a person, correct him immediately by saying, “No! It is not wise to tie your puppy to a pole outside a shop. When this is done, the puppy is very much on his own. You are not there to give him confidence. Because he can hardly move, he is likely to panic if he is frightened by something. While two members of the family enter the shop, th...

Mrs Blogs Blogs - intermittent blogging on account of Caring Responsibilities: 4th July - Revolution & Conservatism
http://mrsblogsblogs.blogspot.com/2009/07/4th-july-revolution-conservatism.html
Saturday, 4 July 2009. 4th July - Revolution and Conservatism. Just still time to wish my American friends well in their 4th July celebrations. The later French Revolution followed hot on the heels of the American Revolution (1776-83 American, 1789-99 French, this timescale was pretty quick in them days) and historians have debated equally hotly about the similarities and differences of these events. However, the timing and connection was not lost on some contemporaries. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, 9 June 2009. Leadership Question Mark 2007, 2008, 2009. In the past week several backbench MPs have been calling for a vote of no confidence in the leadership. They have been unhappy at his modernisation of the party. Due to popular (or rather unpopular! Demand William Hill opened a book on who would be the next leader. Except this was all about the Conservative leader, David Cameron. UK Polling Report who look at these things said:. It must be that time of year again! Stick with your leader, un...

You may leave a comment but don't be surprised if I am too busy to 'moderate' it. If it is a long (or short) ill-informed, diatribe I might just sweep it into the dustbin on account of it making the place look untidy. Some have already made it through my rigorous standards. Friday, 3 July 2009. Have been too busy to blog. Have though discovered the delights of twitter -ideal as a snack you can eat between meals without ruining your appetite. Been patching up my kitchen. Removed some tiles and accidentally a layer of plaster. Had to repair it myself. In this heat! Anyway, enough of the sob story. There's been loads of good stuff in the papers, around the blogs and in the twitterverse or whatever neologism has been invented for it. Lots of catching up to do.

Mrs Blogs Blogs - intermittent blogging on account of Caring Responsibilities: Only religion can make you good...

Thursday, 28 October 2010. Only religion can make you good. Canon Raven paid tribute to George Garrett (whose writings greatly impressed George Orwell) thus:. For me to preach to such a man would be an impertinence.it is a pity his views are so unsuited to his character; a bad creed, even if it has no influence, is an obstacle.but I have a feeling that Jesus is much more manifestly incarnate in this man and his kind than He is in me.". Growing Up as a Confused Catholic. Del Ratzsch has written an excellent philosophical book on the role of design in science, called Nature, Design, and Science. It would be difficult for anybody to walk away from reading that book thinking that design (supernatural or not) has no place in science. His conclusion is basically that there are no good philosophical reasons. To exclude supernatural design from being a legitimate part of science. 1 Arguments from bad design are not scientific arguments. 2 How ...
