Saturday, June 23, 2012. BCT Whole Enchilada Whole Shot. By the time I got to the big road, I was at about 1:46 so I knew I was in pretty good shape.just wanted to keep it steady. Up Cheapshot to Skyline I tried to keep the HR up.mentally just picturing the downhill.finally, crested the top, took a few big breaths again and thought. "just flow Ray, just flow". That was tough. My actual segment time (since it starts just inside the trailhead) was 2:30:48. A little word cloud to capture the experience!

Monday, March 25, 2013. Last year sometime, Tim McCabe was assembling a bunch of GPS tracks for what someday will be run as the Central AZ500. The idea was to take the AZT750 route, shift part of it west and pickup such gems as Mingus Mountain, the Great Western Trail, the Black Canyon Trail to name a few. Since that time, I wanted to have a go at the section from Flagstaff to Phoenix so I pinged my friend Mark Allen who is always eager for consecutive days of suffering while pedaling a loaded bike.

Monday, September 30, 2013. Dawn broke on a cold Saturday morning. We suited up and got rolling up the hill to the AZT. Ice crunched under tires, but spirits were high. Yeah, it was that cold. Saturday, July 6, 2013. So we camped Friday night in our "usual place". The weather was fabulous and no one else was up there so it was sublimely peaceful.
