Van Camping in Iowa. Brad, the "Van Trekker". Pre-Labor Day with the Cats. September 3, 2016. Hello and thanks for visiting the blog today! On Friday and Saturday I took a brief camping trip with the two cats, Jennifer and Jesse to do some fishing and sightseeing. We had a blast. Located near Highlandville (just a few miles from Minnesota), this tree seemed anxious to start its fall transformation. Ready for the smoker! The fishing was great even with having to watch over my shoulder for bovine visitors!

Van Camping in Iowa. Worked on the bed today. May 4, 2011. Somebody else wanted to get comfortable today. This is Kitty Doris also known as “DorDor” or “Door Knob”… She is my little adolescent. Talk about looking comfortable. This gave me the inspiration to work on the bed today. The bed was a pain. The grandiose idea of having a unit that converts to a couch just didn’t pan out. Instead, I opted to make a built-like-a-battleship bed such as you see here. Brad, the "Van Trekker". Mom's Little Runaway.

Van Camping in Iowa. Newer posts ». Quasqueton Car Show and Camping. August 20, 2016. Hello and welcome to the blog! Tonight Jesse James and I are camping in Quasqueton, Iowa. That’s a mouthful. The town’s name is pronounced “KWAS-kweee-tun”. That’s not so bad. This little community is located in southern Buchanan County, about 32 miles due north of Cedar Rapids. As I approached town, signs and a detour announced a car show. That seemed like a fun diversion. Wapsipinicon River at Quasqueton…. Once situat...

Van Camping in Iowa. Newer posts ». Farmer’s Market is a Van Camper’s Paradise. September 24, 2011. One of the blessings we enjoy in Iowa is the abundance of locally grown food. Obviously, California has far more salad type items but Iowa has a nice balance of produce, fresh organic beef, chicken, and pork, as well as many baked goods made by farm wives and Amish bakers. Nobody needs to go hungry in Iowa! Just the right color(s)… Hopefully they will look at the shirt and not the bad haircut. The next sto...
