The Lazy Left-Wing Gardener. April 11, 2016. Way back in 2011 I had a chance to visit an ecovillage called Huehuecoyotl. Near Tepoztlán, Mexico. I stayed with Toña Osher. Who showed me her garden and generously taught me many things about food, sustainability, and politics. Toña lives high on the mountain surrounded by spectacular views. The Lazy Left-Wing Gardener. Looking Back to the Fall Garden. December 31, 2016. In mid-November the garden was still going strong. Thanks to microclimates this pepper plant (photographed earlier) survived light frosts against a south facing wall. I bent leaves around to hide the fruit from frost and hungry raccoons. There were fig trees galore, and a delicious fruit that grew indoors! While I’m fascinated by the relationship between wasps and figs. It‘s another great option for balcony and indoor farmers.
