On The Curing Rack: Christmas Eve
http://onthecuringrack.blogspot.com/2014/12/christmas-eve.html
On The Curing Rack. Musings and other irrelevant things from my tiny section of the universe. Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Today is Christmas Eve, and I have a question for all of you: "Are you ready? Even though Christmas is always on the 25th of December, somehow I am always taken by surprise at how soon that actually comes each year. And I find myself, year after year, not ready. This year is no different. Oh, well. I wish each and every one of you a wonderful holiday - however you may celebrate.
On The Curing Rack: Rain and Bagels
http://onthecuringrack.blogspot.com/2014/12/rain-and-bagels.html
On The Curing Rack. Musings and other irrelevant things from my tiny section of the universe. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Day two of this new year features rain. Thankfully, not. And a second really nice thing: a multi-grain bagel still warm from the oven. No cream cheese, no peanut butter, no butter, no toasting. Just very, very fresh and very yummy. I don't splurge on them very often, but this one was irresistible. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Widgets for Etsy Sellers. Art and Quilting in Camden.

On The Curing Rack. Musings and other irrelevant things from my tiny section of the universe. Thursday, February 27, 2014. Becoming a Vegetarian, Again. Lately, I find myself drifting pretty strongly back to vegetarian meals. There are just so many wonderful recipes nowadays, and it is easier to find unusual ingredients now, too. Easy to find things like Kamut, Farro, Millet, many colors of rice, wonderful vegetables in colorful arrays.how could I not want to try them all? Links to this post. Feb 1, Iris.

On The Curing Rack: Happy SOLAR New Year
http://onthecuringrack.blogspot.com/2014/12/happy-solar-new-year.html
On The Curing Rack. Musings and other irrelevant things from my tiny section of the universe. Monday, December 22, 2014. Happy SOLAR New Year. I am watching the sun rise - or at least the light grow stronger through the thick cloud cover - on the first morning of the solar new year. Although the calendar won't change for another 9 days, the new year begins today. Cherish each day. And find joy in life. Live. Or, to quote Mr. Spock, "Live Long and Prosper.". Viewing the Portal - Living with Mom and Alzheimer's: January 2012
http://viewingtheportal.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Viewing the Portal - Living with Mom and Alzheimer's. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. The portal strikes again. Last night, after mom had gone to bed, my husband discovered a packed overnight bag in the entry hallway. Mom's. We figured she was planning her "escape" and put the suitcase out in the garage, to slow her escape if nothing else. An hour or so later, her bedroom light began to go off and on. When the lights finally settled down, I heard stealthy creeping along the hallway. Mom: Waiting for my ride.
Viewing the Portal - Living with Mom and Alzheimer's: April 2012
http://viewingtheportal.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Viewing the Portal - Living with Mom and Alzheimer's. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. It is Soooooo Quiet. No bowls of milk. No waiting for a ride. No pacing. No fussing. She is happy today.and THAT makes me happy. Monday, April 23, 2012. The Bowl of Milk. This happened twice last week, but the bowl was a small, dessert-type bowl. Both times, I just dumped the bowl and went about my day. Today, I thought I might approach the mystery. Friday, April 13, 2012. Is it *really* so awful to get clean? Mind you, she ...

Susan Studio Arts: Migraines Are A Pain
http://susanstudioarts.blogspot.com/2014/06/migraines-are-pain.html
Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Migraines Are A Pain. Migraines are a real pain. This last one kicked my ass twelve ways to Sunday. I'm back in the Studio and trying to play catch-up. Here are a few photos of the block I started before the migraine takeover. I transferred the tree to the weaver cloth and chose the threads. The tree is done now. I need to get started with embellishing the seams. Thank you for being patient and checking in. Migraines Are A Pain. Posted by Susan Studio Arts. June 25, 2014 at 7:25 AM.

Sunday, March 30, 2014. How does one react when one hears that a friend is battling cancer? My first thought is to do something.not certain what I should be doing though. So I made a card. I sought some help with the layout. And dropped in at Mojo Monday. I'm finding it difficult to focus with all the memories running rampant in my mind. The paper is from, you guessed it, Graphic45. I hand wrote the sentiment. Posted by Susan Studio Arts. Labels: Mojo Monday Sketch. Sunday, March 23, 2014. While pulling ...

Susan Studio Arts: Garden Stroll - May CQJP2014
http://susanstudioarts.blogspot.com/2014/05/garden-stroll-may-cqjp2014.html
Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Garden Stroll - May CQJP2014. My dad would often stroll through the garden fussing with this or that potted plant, adjusting his orchids, attending to the rose bushes or just weeding. I'll grant you he did not look like this hand embroidered Oriental gentleman, in fact he did not look like this at all-but he was Chinese. I took artistic license to a whole new level with this one. The trees, in keeping with the Oriental theme were outlined in the Pekinese Stitch. I imagined him lea...

On The Curing Rack. Musings and other irrelevant things from my tiny section of the universe. Saturday, July 29, 2017. Art Every Day, 29 July 2017. The card for today is very simple. I've done a rubber-stamped image, embossed it in black, then used watercolor to paint the flower. After everything was dry, I used watercolor to paint the background, layered it onto a printed scrapbook paper leftover, then onto a white top-fold card. And done. Links to this post.
