On the Edge of Beautiful: January 2015

http://ontheedgeofbeautiful.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 19, 2015. I Run This Town. When I first started running, I stayed in our neighborhood. It was much more comfortable for me to be hideous in front of a much smaller number of people. Plus, if my heart suddenly exploded, which seemed a very real possibility, there was a better chance of someone I knew finding me. That was super smart. Cars whizzing past, Toby nervous and trying to hide behind my legs as we walked across. What is that poor woman running from? I saw this video recently, empow...

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. 131 miles of Candy and Agony: A Half Marathon Recap. So I ran my first half-marathon last week. Funny thing about half-marathons. It's one of those rare things in life that you can truly be enjoying while simultaneously wishing for the sweet relief of death. It was the Donna 26.2. For breast cancer research and it's become a really big thing in this part of Florida. The male race spectators seemed to focus more on the breast part than the cancer research part but still.

On the Edge of Beautiful: September 2014

http://ontheedgeofbeautiful.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Home Projects and Other Marriage Counseling Topics. As any normal wife does, I often peruse Pinterest in search of home remodeling projects for my husband to do - don't want him being too relaxed or anything. The kids' bathroom mirror has always bothered me - it's one of those boring builder-grade mirrors whose holders have gone rusty from time and depression. See how sad and boring this is? See how much nicer it is with the frame? Matt, however, looked at those projects and ...

On the Edge of Beautiful: And It Started Out So Well...

http://ontheedgeofbeautiful.blogspot.com/2015/06/and-it-started-out-so-well.html

Sunday, June 28, 2015. And It Started Out So Well. This is a blog post about last week. The good and the bad. Unfortunately, it started good and ended bad. Which really makes the whole thing worse because our spirits were so high when the dark and dreary cloud of reality settled upon them. The week started off with the annual Edward Jones Summer Regional - a happy time for kids and adults alike. A four day mini vacation in a hotel with good food, excellent childcare, swims in the beach, and open bars.

Our Chinese Adoption Adventure. This is the story of our adoption process to bring our daughter Mia 金果 home to us. Monday, February 25, 2013. Mia's Dedication and Shriners. At home before the dedication. On a side note. I think I finally got a good Christmas picture. Unfortunately, it is just a couple of months late. I think in the past this has been called "Baby Dedications." Maybe they changed it to "Child Dedications" for us:). This was my first time at a Shriner's hospital. Given that I have zero...

Our Chinese Adoption Adventure. This is the story of our adoption process to bring our daughter Mia 金果 home to us. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Tae Kwon Do, Reading, and Mia's New Arm. Mia has been making tons of progress with her learning. She has learned her alphabet and can write her letters. Some of the letters she still has trouble saying (for instance the letter "X" is hard for her to say and it comes out "S") but she knows them all. She has also started reading! Ashlyn still had her clothes but was ...

The Secret Life of the Infertile. To Infertility.and Beyond! Sunday, November 16, 2014. Few Words, Big Attitude. Long time no.yadda yadda. Liam started daycare in August. We LOVED our private sitter, but with our speech concerns we thought that a daycare may help. Also, it is super close to our home and my work. (And, as you know.it's really all about me.). I was pretty much mortified. After several weeks of "incident reports" from the daycare and some extremely stressful tantrums at home, I went on a qu...

The Secret Life of the Infertile. To Infertility.and Beyond! Saturday, July 26, 2014. A Boy of Few Words. This mother was me. The child was mine. I love this boy. I love him. I love him. I love him. I assured her I was and practically ran to the car. Liam was asleep within about 5 minutes of us leaving the parking lot. Big mistake. Huge. (cue "Pretty Woman" scene here). He understands and babbles a lot, but as far as recognizable speech goes, that's it! BoyI may be in for it! On the Edge of Beautiful.

On the edge of an art breakdown

Tuesday, 23 September 2014. Changing point of view. Before to start a new and super full day, I've decided to dedicate some time to my creature, my lovely blog and share with you some photographs that I've been taking during the first day of London Fashion Week End, where I had the chance to experience something absolutely new for me. In this case, the shows are not actual. These few days of sparkling and fashion celebration at Somerset House are dedicated to all the ones that don't have the chance to ta...

Saturday, July 25, 2015. Maxwell Douglas Evans was born on February 6, 2015 at 38 weeks. At this point I was tired of the back and forth unknown and was just ready for this kid to come. I am so grateful for wonderful family! Tuesday, December 2, 2014. We are Thankful for. We are thankful for. I'm going to go...
