Jun 21, 2011 by Basha. Italy is truly everything I imagined it to be. I spent three days in Milan (Milano) wandering around and eating gelato, listening to the lull of Italian and marveling at how loose and free people are with their movements, their language, their gestures. Being here makes me want to loosen up my stride and shake what my mama gave me. And learn Italian. I know that my love affair with Italy is just beginning. It has taken me by surprise, as many great loves do, and where thereR...

Under the Tuscania Sun. Jul 8, 2011 by Basha. That’s still inhabited. To compare this to my American experience, I used to live the historic part of my town and the house I lived in dated back to 1920. What’s also so amazing is that this walled part of Tuscania has been able to adapt itself for nearly a thousand years to stay habitable. Water, electricity, modern plumbing have all been installed while the buildings and walls remain. How to See Rome in a Day. 2 Comments Add Comment. What an amazing journe...

Gettin’ Jjigae Wit It (or How to Make Kimchi Stew). Sep 2, 2011 by Basha. Kimchi jjigae is everything I love about Korean food served up in a bowl. It’s spicy, tangy, super flavorful, comes in many varieties (I’m big on having options) and most of all it’s just plain delicious! One of the great things about kimchi jjigae is that it’s a great way to enjoy the spiciness and tang that kimchi offers without the heavy fermented flavors that go along with it. 1 cup onion, sliced or diced into bits size pieces.
