Peanut Butter Lunch | Oregonhiker's Weblog
https://oregonhiker.wordpress.com/2014/09/09/peanut-butter-lunch
Hiking with my friends is fun and healthy. September 9, 2014. I tried a new lunch option for my most recent backpacking trip. I premixed honey and peanut butter in a refillable squeeze bottle, for the cracker I like, crispbread. Crispbread is more durable than other options I have tried in the past and it has solid texture and flavor. Posted in Hiking Food. Laquo; Golden Lake. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Hiking with my friends is fun and healthy. August 31, 2014. Trail Head: Park Meadow Trail Head, this is near Three Creeks Lake. Distance: 6 miles one way. Golden Lake is real gem, unfortunately it has been discovered. The hike in can start from either the Three Creek Lake area or the Green Lakes Trail. Our hike started at the Park Meadow Trail in the Three Creek Lake area. There are several camp spots in the trees that surround the lake. We camped to right on the edge of the meadow in a group of tree...

Hiking with my friends is fun and healthy. September 21, 2014. Road access report: The road from highway 22 to Breitenbush Lake has not been maintained in several years and many sections are very rough. I would only recommend driving the road in a high clearance vehicle, when it was dry 4 WD was not necessary. On the way in. The Whitewater Trailhead is easily accessible. If you don’t have an annual pass there is a $5 fee that can be paid at the trailhead. Laquo; Peanut Butter Lunch. Fill in your details ...
South Sister | Oregonhiker's Weblog

Hiking with my friends is fun and healthy. July 21, 2014. Don’t be fooled by the sign at the Trail head, the distance to the summit is 6 miles. What they don’t say is that it is also one mile up. If you want to climb a mountain this is a strenuous but non-technical climb. This is Mortaine Lake and the reports that we got were that the water was very cold still, probably because it is filled from snow melt. The climb got progressively steeper and we moved from firm pumice sand to loose pumice and stones.

Vegan Hiking: My Food Strategy
http://veganhiking.blogspot.com/2008/07/my-food-strategy.html
Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Revised food plan (what actually worked for me). Thoughts for next time. Some of my favorites. Anyone interested in the PCT probably knows all about resupply strategies by now; hopefully I can provide a little insight to how strategies are effected by being vegan and introduce them to those that don't know at all. Essentially there are two primary strategies, plus a number of hybrids of the two. After creating a rough day by day itinerary, we were able to plug in the resupply loc...
Vegan Hiking: July 2008
http://veganhiking.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 8, 2008. This is really a pretty simple topic. In the world of commercially available and generally accepted sleeping systems (bags) there are essentially two choices: down and synthetic insulation fill. Since this is a vegan blog, down is not a choice and thus, synthetic is the only choice. Mostly, I think that down has been over hyped up. Althoug. Or their video, Plucked Alive: The Torture Behind Down:. Http:/ www.petatv.com/tvpopup/Prefs.asp? As mentioned earlier, I would say that goo.
