Monthly Archives: July 2014. It is not pattern news I bring today, but the happy (and overdue) update regarding my website. For a long (really, really long) list of reasons, I’m closing Rose City Knits down and moving everything over to my name. Aside from the need for name recognition in the design world, it’s also problematic from a contract perspective to host everything through a business without my name in it. This entry was posted in designing. July 9, 2014. Busy, busy, busy. And have so many proje...

As promised, the long-overdue post about Alexa and Tegan’s visit :). This slideshow requires JavaScript. The girls came up on the 19th and spent three days with us. Immediately, Tegan’s first request was a trip to Powell’s. We promised her that’d be our first trip the next day; and, in fact, we managed to hit three different Powell’s locations (one by accident, but that’s another story). I love socks, lace, and all sorts of ‘traditional’ knitting subjects. I studied Classics and textile history (independent minor) at Uni and have a love of anything ancient. That said, I also like to mix it up with modern shapes and silhouettes, often with a little tradition thrown in for fun. So, the transfer is still in progress; but, I feel confident enough in my new website http:/ www.sara-morris.com. I’d love for you to take a look around and give me feedback. Suggestions are always welcome! I can...

“fyberduck”? | Sara Morris
https://fyberduck.wordpress.com/about
My handle, “fyberduck”, comes from the mascot of my alma mater. The University of Oregon), Donald Duck. The blog’s title, “the qfa”, is an acronym for “the quacking fiber addict”. I’ve always loved ducks and when I fell into knitting and spinning and weaving at the UO’s Craft Center. And Fiber Arts Studios, the name created itself. I started this blog 3 years ago as a means to keep in touch with some friends who had already graduated from Uni and moved far, far away. Other stuff about me? Click to share ...
